DONT LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS! BUY THIS NOW!
*excuse the laundry 🧺 at the bottom of my stairs* OKAY GUYS LISTEN! I was skeptical too because of the mixed reviews and people saying how it’s difficult to open and close and this and that. I am here to tell you i set this up by myself in about an hour cuz i sat my butt down on a stool and took my time but yall could probably get it done in 30 min with a partner. Listen if you follow the assembly video in the picture description at the top and do it right you won’t have any issues with this gate! This gate is 100% solid and safe! There is no way my toddler is going to get thru it. Now as far as opening and closing the gate with one hand like most of the reviews complained about; it’s easy! I have no idea what they’re talking about. I think ppl are trying to pull those two little levers on the latch up to open it and throats wrong. You are supposed to take your index finger and thumb and push them down like your 🤏 pinching something and lift the gate up with the 2 back fingers (ring finger and pinky!) and it’s literally so easy to open and close with one hand holding a baby or groceries or whatever! It’s not rocket science guys! You may have to show an adult or the older kiddos how to do it the first time but after that it should be a breeze! There is no way a toddler can figure it out. I’m telling you if you set it up right and watch the simple video carefully this will do what it’s supposed to do but if your impatient rushing trying to run thru it well you will make mistakes and it won’t do what it’s supposed to. I absolutely love it and I give it 5 stars! If anything changes I will come back and let yall know but so far I feel like I got my moneys worth!! I highly recommend this product.

easy to put together
easy to put together, easy to install, directions made sense, my 4yr old knows how to open it (after I taught him). I like that this can swing 180* depending on how you install it (I installed ours with the intent to have it hit the stair riser so my kids wouldn't rest it on the step). My only wish is that this came with a more substantial set of wall anchors. The gate isn't super heavy, but it's made out of metal, so unless you are installing into a stud, the constant opening and shutting movement alone could easily yank this out of the wall. Since I did not install this into a stud (impossible given the gate's location), when my husband ran into the gate in the middle of the night he successfully ripped the heavy duty wall anchor and screw on top of the gate out of the wall (I still can't figure out how he accomplished this). Since the resulting hole was quite large, I had to secure the gate bracket and screw with liquid nails. Super lame since once we are done with the gate it's gonna be a beast to repair the drywall -- which I'll make my husband do as punishment! All and all, there are very limited options on gates that can be securely installed against a wall or post that is not 90*, and I have been very pleased with this one. I felt the price was good and would buy again, even if we didn't have a weird angled wall since it's so easy to open and close. I have a regalo gate on our other set of stairs (I bought this one first and our walls/railings were all 90* on this opening), and while the gate itself works well and prevents my 18mo old from falling down the stairs, it is annoying to have to hold the locking mechanism while opening the latch, and the opening in the gate itself reduces the stair opening to an obnoxious size (adults have to turn sideways to walk through it). This cardinal gate allows the stair opening to remain the same size, which makes passing through it -- especially when carrying things -- incredibly easy. Also, when my baby is sleeping I can easily leave the gate wide open since it'll sit flush against the wall (remember, it can swing 180*). If you would want to leave the gate open at times, make sure you get your level out, otherwise it'll just swing back shut :)

Simple but well made and versatile
There's not much to this gate, but that's why it's so nice - all metal construction (except for 2 plastic bearing sleeves so it opens smoothly and quietly) and a really minimal design that means there's pretty much nothing that can break or wear out. It's a hard mounted design without a bottom bar, which is necessary for stairs, and it only requires 4 screws in total to install! It's also super versatile because of the simple hinge and latch design, allowing it to be installed at an angle in case you can't mount it perfectly perpendicular to the walls. We had a railing that got in the way for most gate designs, but it was no problem for this gate! Check out the attached photo (but ignore the black part near the hinge - I 3d printed a bracket for some elastic to prevent the gate from swinging open too far). The only downside is that because the entire gate swings, it can end up pretty long for a normal width stairwell, getting in the way when left open.

Great, attractive gate. Easy to install. Opening it can be difficult (especially for guests)
The gate is well made and installation is pretty simple and quick. The only thing holding me back from a 5-star review is the latching mechanism. When I first opened the gate I recognized the latch as the same one our good friends had at their home. It's certainly child proof, but it's almost parent proof too. I'd like to see them modify it to work more smoothly. I've interacted with 3 of these gates and still sometimes they're easy to open while other times I had to put down what I was carrying to figure out how to open it up.

BEST GATE FOR AN ANGLE!! Wish I would’ve found this sooner!
I am so happy I found this gate! After our previous gate starting to come out of the drywall, I needed to find an angled gate to install into a wall stud. This was great! I installed it by myself within 30 minutes (could’ve been faster but I have kids lol) and it was easy. The instructions came with a QR code to take you to an installation video which was very helpful. I did purchase one of their additional pieces for my banister and that was perfect. This gate is sturdy, looks wonderful, swings easily, and is easy to lock/unlock once you figure it out. Highly recommend this gate if you need an angle — you will get high value for your money and it will meet your needs!

Great gate, easy to use!
We have had these gates installed since our baby was about one year old, and we have loved them at the top and bottom of our stairs. They look great and have done a wonderful job keeping him and then our second son safe. I was hoping that my son would not figure out the mechanism for another year or two, but he turns five years old tomorrow and he figured it out. I still give this five stars, though, because we've gotten four years of flawless use out of these gates. I'm going to have to find a different gate that hopefully my five-year-old won't learn to use, and I hope it's as good.

Safe, sturdy, good looking, easy to assemble, hard to open... perfect gate for top of stairs!
After searching high and low for a gate for the top of my stairs, I decided to give this one a try. I'm so happy I did! The gate looks good and it's sturdy. It was very easy to install, even with me being 7-months pregnant and having my toddler bouncing around trying to mess with the screws, it only took me about an hour from box to first use installing it on drywall. The hardest part was finding the stupid studs! I was a little worried about the safety of it, being that my son is 2 and we haven't used a baby gate consistently before, save for a pressure mounted one every now and then for a specific thing, like baking a cake and keeping him off the oven, but this gate feels very safe even when he has tried to open it, which he hasn't accomplished (we're working on "leave the gate alone please"). Most adults that come visiting can't open it without either asking how or studying the mechanism up close, which makes me happy. The open-close mechanism is EASY to use but HARD to figure out for a child. I like that it's very counter-intuitive, hence very safe. The gate is all metal, so I think it will last a long time. Maybe I'll have to adjust the screws every now and then, but I think that's something I would do with ANY gate mounted at the top of my stairs. The width is seamlessly easy to adjust, and works perfectly for my 31" wide stairwell. Again, it looks way better than anything else I considered or bought (I returned a couple ones before buying this gate). I would highly recommend it to anyone that asks me :)

Frustrating install; not suitable for one-handed use.
We bought this gate because we have two dogs and are expecting our first baby, and we wanted a way to create a dog-free space in our home. We don’t have any stairs and aren’t worried about trips/ falls. The gate wasn’t easy to install. The studs on our walls aren’t directly opposite one another, leaving us to either install at an angle (which we didn’t want to do) or use our own drywall anchors on the non-hinge side. Our own anchors proved incredibly secure, while the smaller screw provided for the stud on the hinge side (the ‘C’ screw) stripped out of the stud literally on first use. Those screws are NOT secure and should not be provided with the kit. The adjustable width is a one-time adjustment, as the screws used to secure the width dig into the metal and create dents that more or less fix the screw in place. And we already see the coating on the metal chipping off in places. I’m also genuinely confused why people say this gate is suited for one-handed use. Because of the height, I need to lean down to reach the fastener, and it takes two hands to open - one to push down on both sides of the fastener, and the other to lift. I can’t see being able to open this while carrying a baby, even less so with my pups circling around. If you don’t plan to use it often, it may be a good option for you. But this gate is less than ideal for everyday use, and it’s certainly not worth the money.

Excelente
De lo mejor. Lo recomiendo mucho. Compré la extensión por el tamaño de la escalera. No se van a arrepentir. Muy seguro. Para que no lo abran los niños. Muy buena relación calidad-precio. Recomendado.
