Great shoe for USPSA/action shooting competition
NOTE: I am not this shoe's target audience. I will not, nor have I ever, nor will I ever run up a mountain. What I do is shoot action pistol competitions which require a lot of traction on a variety of surfaces at outdoor gun ranges, from larger rocks to gravel to sand, stopping and starting rapidly from a variety of positions while maintaining control of a handgun or rifle. These shoes are excellent for that purpose; their tight fit and massive grip improve my agility dramatically on grass, dirt, rocks, any type of earth that I might encounter in competition.Make sure to order a size up as they are very narrow, but the tight fit helps to improve that feeling of responsiveness and agility even further, so don't let the tightness turn you off.

Buy up a half-size for wide feet and you will have a great shoe!
I trail run in the woods of Western Pennsylvania. Clay soil, shale, and limestone rock, with a lot of exposed roots and off-camber terrain. Saw this shoe reviewed as best shoe for uneven terrain, per Runners World, so I went for them and have three runs in so far. Here are my thoughts:Overall: I have a high arch and a wide foot (11E), so was thankful for the many reviews advising to buy a half-size up in this shoe. Led to a firm, but true fit for my foot. Heel and toe fit are good. The shoe is neither ultra-light nor heavy - overall, I would consider this a light shoe for trail running.Feel: as mentioned before, you should definitely buy up by a half-size if you have a wide foot. I did this and never felt as though I was clopping along in “my daddy’s shoes”. The “sock” construction of the upper gives a lot of support to the foot. The laces however, seem about 1.5” to 2” too short for a good double knot if you have the same high arch/wide foot as me. The sole is firm but comfortable; this is not a soft shoe (which I prefer for road running), but i thought it made for a perfect sole for trail running.Performance: really great; terrific, in fact. The sole is very responsive for the tough, uneven terrain that I run on. Great support by both the sole and the upper for my foot. My foot doesn’t move AT ALL during a run, which of course is what you want. Never slipped once, even on wet rocks thanks to the responsiveness of the sole and the spacing of the lugs on the bottom. The lightness of the shoe allows you to move quickly when needed.Bottom line: these are not inexpensive shoes, but well worth the money. Don’t ignore the advice to buy a half-size up, unless you have a narrow foot. Terrific trail running shoe!

Fantastic shoes. Make sure to try them on first!
Just put them through a little over 20 miles track through Yosemite. Brand new out of the box, only wore once to try, no breakdown whatsoever. They did excellently. Super light, extremely grippy, enough flex, and breathable too. One minor nuisance is when you're hiking through dry dirt/sand some will get in through the mesh, so make sure to wear proper socks. Now, the size on these is way off. I normally wear 10.5 in hiking shoes (Salomon, Merrell, Ecco). Tried 10.5 - couldn't even get my foot in, 11 - okay length, but still too tight around mid-foot. Finally got size 11.5, and they're perfect. A tad too long, but with heel lock, they perform great on descends.Overall, super happy with these. A lot more comfortable than my older Salomons. Will see how they hold up to wear, though.

Buy the size you wear.
I've seen a lot of reviews recommending to buy size up, I completely disagree.I order a size that is my normal foot size. After 4-6 months of daily hiking the padding will wear and model to fit your foot better. For frequent and hard use the correct size. The grip on these shoes is very good out of the box but expect this to diminish after three months or so. Some of the bottom has torn but easy was fixed with a shoe glue. Compared to the companys climbing shoes these will look and feel cheaply made. I would say the pricing is higher then it should be buy 20-40 dollars. If you can snag some for cheaper in the correct size. Then longer term they can be enjoyed.I mainly used mine for scrambling to boulder spots as well as long hikes. With the tight sizing there was no rubbing or blisters. As time passes it will mold more to the foot, buy size up will probably feel good for the first few months but turn them into a uncomfortable loose shoe.
