Ball Compass Keychain

This does not appear to be a functioning compass. The first one I received would not spin freely in the shell, so it did not work. I contacted the seller, and they promptly sent another one, but this one also does not move freely. I don't think this is a problem with the seller, just poor quality of the product as manufactured. I gave up and will find something else.

I bought this as gifts for xmas one year but ended up keeping one for myself. its so simple and reliable I feel more aware with directions now that i keep this on my keys. I would recommend this to anyone, I feel as thought maybe it could serve some sort of unforeseen purpose.

The keychain arrived in perfect shape, exactly as described and pictured. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

I just received the package. the chain was Brocken and the compass leaked fluid. the package had a stamp saying received in poor condition.

In this day and age of GPS's and electronic devices, it's refreshing for me to go back to basics. I used to lead hikes through mountainous areas and found the need for a compass many times. When I moved from the West Coast to a more inland area on the other side of the US, I found the need to use a compass again. And this one is it! It attaches to the zipper on my handbag; it can also attach to the strap. If I skiied, I'd attach it to the zipper on my ski jacket. And most importantly, it's accurate every time. Just set it down and look at it from the top to get a reading. Easy peasy. No dials to turn, no degree bearings to remember; just simple compass directions.I'm going to try it out while riding in my car; maybe it might work, and maybe not, but I do know it works very well in any other circumstance. I plan to buy several for my handbags, to give as gifts, etc.
