Are these containers made in china? im looking for containers made in the usa

For good or for ill, "Made in China" will be your answer. Point at any item for sale on Amazon... China will be the item's ultimate origin. Inferiority in majority.

Hello,We are proud to tell you our containers are BPA free.Best regards,Freshware Support

Are these leakproof? Could I send with my son to school?

Hello Leah,They are leak-resistant meaning they are meant to hold in liquids, but they would not be able to hold in large amounts of liquid especially if the container is tilted or flipped over. To send with your son to school would be totally fine. If you have any more questions please let us know.Best regards,Joshua Freshware Support
