This is the best balm on the planet. It literally saved my life. After being hospitalized for poison ivy, receiving a steroid shot, using calamine, tecu, and caladryl, I was still in agonizing pain and itching like crazy. When a friend sent me a link for this jewelweed balm, and I next day aired it home...IMMEDIATE RELIEF!!!! soothing, cooling, made all the itching stopped, and actually HEALED the poison and stopped the oozing. It is beyond effective and every hospital should keep it in sock.

I have been treating my dog's dry and infected skin with this salve. She seems to enjoy it! The rash is slowly going away. I also use medicated shampoo and Echinacea. The doc thinks it is grass allergy, but I am sure there are also bites on her skin. Very happy. Will use it further for myself, and probably will reorder when it is running on empty. Very soft and smells delicious.

I have had terrible poison ivy since a child - usually lasts 2 weeks of feeling ill and non-stop itching. I put this salve on a new breakout, and by the next day it was healing instead of spreading.

This is a great natural alternative to store bought poison ivy treatments. I love that this is all natural and it really stops the itching. The only down side is that is does not dry and is very oily therefore; it easily gets on sheets and clothes. I found that putting on the salve and wrapping the body part in gauze works best to continue with your life without fear of it rubbing off on something. You get a good amount for the price, a little goes a long way during application. The shelf life is about two years which is great!

I'm skeptical about how much jewelweed this actually contains. From what I can tell its largely olive oil and a few other things, which causes it to stay quite oily. Fragrance is weak, and the effects are hard to notice. It might help under your clothes or PJs, simply by virtue of keeping the rash moist and healing.

Worth the purchase. Great product to have on hand for humans and pets. Used on my dog that had skin problems and help clear it up. Great on irritated skin from itchy to burning.
