BALILA: Wireless Lavalier Microphone (1TX+1RX)
The media could not be loaded. ▬ Introduction ▬▬▬Recently had my wireless microphone set-up stop working and was thinking about getting the new Sony system, but to be honest, the price was really out of my budget. I have never heard of the brand 'BALILA' before, though the price was much more appealing (£49.99 at the time of purchase), so why not give it a shot. There were a couple of selling points for this product:• In-built rechargeable batteries.• Wireless range (advertised as 80m, though 10m is more than enough for me).▬ Box Contents ▬▬▬• 1x Transmitter (If you went for the '1TX + 1RX' option; the '2TX + 1RX' comes with two).• 1x Lapel microphone (Two with the '2TX + 1RX' pack).• 1x Receiver.• 2x Charging cables.• Audio cable (Male to Male).• Audio cable (Male to Female).• Instruction manual.• Carry case (Hard Shell). The carry case keeps everything neatly packed inside and safe for storage and travelling purposes.▬ Set-Up ▬▬▬I'll start off by saying the instruction manual needs to be completely re-done or put into the incinerator... It hasn't been translated well AT ALL! But don't let the deter you and once you know how, the set-up is very simple.First of all, make sure both the transmitter and receiver are charged up, then do the following to pair:1) Hold the power button down on the transmitter until it turns on.2) Hold the minus and power button down at the same time for approximately three seconds or until the display flashes.3) Hold the power button down on the receiver for three seconds and release, the light should stay on and both the transmitter and receiver should pair. You can tell the two have paired because the receivers light turns a much brighter green (The instruction manual did state there is also a blue light, but that may be when pairing a secondary unit).Once the two are paired, just simply hook everything to your device; in my circumstance it was with my Sony A6600. Although the receiver doesn't actually have a typical cold-shoe attachment, the clip is perfectly sized so that it can slide into the cameras hot-shoe or a cold-shoe mount. From there, the audio cable goes into both the receiver and the cameras mic port. For the transmitter, you just need to insert and screw in the microphone. You may need to do some audio level adjustment, so ensure to check the audio levels on camera to see of there's any clipping; some cameras may have a setting to adjust the audio levels within the settings or alternatively, just knock it down on the transmitter (press the minus or plus button to adjust).▬ Results ▬▬▬Having adjusted the audio levels appropriately, I was very happy with the results of the audio with my voice being captured clearly and I didn't notice any weird high-frequency noises I've had with other brands in the past. It does capture some background noise, which is to be expected considering the price. The range was quite impressive as I walked all the way to the back of my garden with my camera being indoors and the connection remained consistent (the distance between myself and the camera was just past 10m).▬ Final Thoughts ▬▬▬I wasn't too sure what results I was going to get for a budget wireless microphone system but I was left pleasantly surprised! If you're looking for the best of the best, obviously you are going to want to increase your budget; however, if you need something that will deliver decent results without breaking the bank then is a good choice.✔ Pros:✓ Comes with a neat and useful carry case.✓ Rechargeable battery.✓ Decent wireless range.✓ Reasonable audio quality.✓ Compact and lightweight system.✖ Cons:✘ Included instruction manual could have been written a lot better.

Small And Powerful
The media could not be loaded. When I first saw this Wireless Lavalier Microphone I diddnt expect very much because the Balila system is so tiny but when I charged it and set it up with my camera, I was pleasently surprised by the power and clarity of this mighty midgit, the transmitter range is impressive and the size is perfect for hiding the transmitter on your person either clipped to your pocket or your belt. The Lavalier microphone has a handy screw fitting on the plug to secure it to the transmitter to prevent any accidental unpluging. I did a test for hiss and noise on my Tascam recorder ( see attached video ) dispite turning the volume to full there was no hiss or background hum. My kit consisted of two transmitters and one recieaver which is great for interviews at a distance from the camera where normaly you would need an aditional boom mic operator, this way you can be your own camera and sound operative cutting down the need for crew. the recieaver has a headphone port so you can do your pre recording sound check this can also be enhanced in post production, I saw no need for post production adjustment and left everything as is for the attached video demonstration. The while kit comes with a handy hard case for safe transportation and contains everything you need to connect to your mobile phone or camera but you may need a special adaptor for an Apple i phone which can be obtaind from Amazon. The units have a self contained power supply which can be charged via USB port, all in all I was very impressed with what you get for such a low price and if your setting up your Vlogging vieos this set up wont let you down. Great Price Great Quality Great Value for money, I cant fault it, its a fantastic adition to my Vlogging kit.

Fantastic quality
The build qualityThe Balila Wireless Microphone System has an exceptionally good build quality, much better than other brands, especially for the price range. The cases for the transmitters are fully metal with a plastic clip, where as the receiver is made from a tough plastic. I was pleased when all the accessories came in a nice padded foam carrying case, which I’m a major fan of, as it’s able to compactly hold all the accessories and cables. The sound qualityThe sound quality from these microphones are remarkably professional, they have an excellent signal to noise ratio with limited interference. The microphones provided with the kit are very sensitive to noise and are able to clearly pick up a talents voice even when the microphone is placed on the sternum.AccessoriesThe Accessories provided with the kit are superb; it comes with an extra set of windscreens which is admirable especially when they’re easy to lose. It’s clear to say that other microphones fail to incorporate extra microphone windscreens, which is a must have. It’s further satisfying to say that the microphones themselves have a reasonable 1.1 meter cable, that’s not too long to get in the way and not too short.Compatibility with laptops, desktops and phones. The receiver was remarkably easy to connect up to a laptop with the provided cables and a external sound card, since my laptop lacks a microphone input which is for the better, as they don’t tend to be the greatest. It was quite fulfilling to discover that it works just fine with an external mixer board with no issue, and so you can use these mikes for a variety of purposes. When it comes to using the receiver with Iphones older than the Iphone x I faced no issue with getting them to work, it was significantly easy to plug and play to be up and running. I continued to connect the receiver to the Iphone 11 and 12 with a genuine headphone to lighting adapter and had no resistance with getting them to comply. Although you may have troubles when using third party headphone to lighting adaptors. Additionally the receiver works perfectly fine with DSLR and mirrorles cameras.FeaturesBoth the receivers and the transmitters can be charged over USB, and with the twenty first century filled with power banks in everyone’s pockets it’s essential that they can be charged on the go. It’s fulfilling that you have multiple channels along with frequencies on the transmitters, which is necessary when working in populated RF environments.ConclusionOverall The Balila Wireless Microphones are exceptionally reliable for its price range and are packed with external features which make them extremely useable, although they have a few cons I still believe the have a use for close up interviews and sit down talks to a camera. To summarise the prosGood build qualityWell packaged and handy carrying caseExceptional audio qualityLong Lasting Battery LifeInterchangeable frequenciesGood signal to noise ratioSpare WindscreensLocking 3.5mm audio connectorTo summarise the consLimited rangeUneasy Plastic Clips
