Very first Bible
I bought this for my 14-month old daughter. The reviews were great and there was a record from a pediatric Chaplin that really made my decision. While my daughter isn’t old enough to understand anything more than basic words, we talk about God often. She will sit through about half a story and loves turning the pages. I read through it and love how it makes the Bible understandable to little ears. it leaves things openLike death or killing so the parent can discuss this with their child and what it means. I love the Bible board books because she’s a ‘hard page turner’ and I don’t want her to rip these pages but I feel like this Bible is the perfect first.

This is the best "first Bible" I've seen
As a pediatric hospital chaplain and the father of a toddler, I have spent A LOT of time looking for the "right" children's Bible. This is it.Recommended by chaplain colleague of mine who began her career as an elementary ed teacher, this Bible is truly appealing for little people and developmentally appropriate for what they can understand and want to know about God and why things are the way they are.It has a great way of getting to the heart of the Bible's stories, as well as great illustrations. It shares the message of faith in a way that most children can immediately relate to, no matter what their particular denomination or faith-style.In my long search for the right Children's Bible to give and to recommend, I've found a lot of Bibles that (at least to me) seemed either syrupy sweet, overly-doctrinal, just too long to read, or with illustrations kids find scary.I know those versions have their place for different readers and different ages, and I'm grateful for anyone who puts their talents to the task of making the Bible come alive for young people. But this is the one that, for my purposes, gets it juuuuuuust right. It feels like a children's book AND it feels like the Bible.

On a good level for the youngest aged children, problems with quality materials though
This is a good option for the youngest of kids. Does not go too much into things that small children are incapable of understanding or would find disturbing. This is NOT a Bible for older aged kids as they can move into a deeper understanding of scripture and can handle concepts like sacrifice, death, evil, etc. The book does cover Jesus death and resurrection. The book lost a star for two reasons:1. It ends at Jesus' death and resurrection when it should have continued on to cover a few new testament topics like everyone has their own giftings, Paul seeing Jesus and becoming saved, and what heaven would be like (last chapters in Revelation), etc. I think those stories could have been understood by this age group and would help explain what church is all about.2. There was damage/inconsistent materials to the books. Since I buy them as gifts and BRAND NEW, this was particularly frustrating. The first book had a 6 inch "scratch" on the front cover that was clearly viable at an angle but not straight on (it did not damage the cover cover nor break through the surface, but still affects the look and cannot be removed). Inside the front and back covers the blue paper is partially faded which was caused most likely by the glue used to attach the blue paper or a chemical reaction between the blue paper and the underlying cardboard. The second book had this same fading, but what was especially disappointing is that the front cover had numerous dents in it as if a child placed a paper over the book then took and ink pen and scribbled like mad. So the cover of the book does not feel or look smooth and does not therefore look new. These indented lines cover approximately 3/4 of the front cover and many continue through the paper cover and onto the actual hardback's surface. Amazon is not responsible for the fading as that is the result of the book's manufacturing HOWEVER the book with indenting on the front cover should not be listed as brand new nor should they charge full price for it. Amazon please improve your quality control.

Great first Bible
I bought this for my 4yr old. The illustration is cute and the language is easy for him to understand. We have read through it several times.

Kids love this book
Kids love this book. And they really love doing the stickers. The only problem is the stickers are not marked very well for what story they go with. But the kids still really like it,

My Very First Bible. Perfect for the younger reader.
My granddaughter loves her first Bible. She loves even more that she can read it herself. It's a bedtime ritual for her sister and her Daddy.

Well written- beautifully illustrated
What a wonderful way to introduce the Bible stories to children. I buy this for every baptism that I go to as well as a shower gift or whatever. My children and grandchildren love it. When they grow up they already have an idea of what the stories are about. Super!

Great firdt childrens Bible!!!
Book is easy to read with lots of colorful pictures. My 3 month old loves it when we read to him from this Bible. We as parents enjoy it as well for the "child-like" perspective it gives us as God's children. I highly recommend this for anyone seeking to introduce their child to God's Word at an early age.

Good Children's Bible - Excellent Value
A brilliant Bible for small children - a good range of Bible stories which are well written, beautifully illustrated, nicely presented with a lightly padded hardback and EXCELLENT value for money. We give one of these to each baptism family at our church.

This is a fantastic book, small enough to carry away and comprehensive enough for young children to understand. It has a combination of the new and old testament stories and lovely illustrations and we are currently enjoying reading this to our son at bed time.
