I didn’t have to use any specific method to connect it to the tank. It worked right away! I bought my white 15 gallon fluval flex second hand and it didn’t come with the remote. This was an affordable solution!

If you have a flex tank and the light stops working, try this first. I got the new light and it still didn’t work. This is the cheaper try first.

works, doesn't do anything different then the oem fluval controler but my dog ate that one.

I've bought 3 now because they disappeared right from the top of the lid. It absolutely works for my fluval flex.

The Fluval remote that came with my tank failed to work. Rather than going through the process of sending the remote back, I ordered one from Amazon because I figured, “much faster.” It was indeed faster but the remote seemed light, even with a battery and the buttons appeared darker than the remote I received with my tank. Even so, after putting a battery in, the remote did not work. I tried a new battery… no luck. After requesting this refund, I contacted Fluval, hoping I could just get a working remote. It’s been a couple months and I have yet to receive the remote from them. BUT… it turns out - these remotes are back ordered in a big way - due to electronic chips being hard to come by. So, learning this, made me second guess the legitimacy of my purchase.
