Great container!
The container is easy to use and works really well. So far, no leaking as the cap has a nice o-ring seal. The removable plastic tray that goes inside is basically useless in my opinion. Take it out and use the container without it. Let the container sit for a couple hours and the only oil will be left in the catch pan will be a very thin film of oil. Simply wipe it out with a shop towel and the unit will be clean enough to transport. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase. Much better than the cheap "catch pan" type containers that won't allow you to transport your used oil to a recycling center.

Robust construction
Superb product, at least compared to others of similar type. Worth the cost. Tear-away plastic cover wasn't of much worth to me.Pros:Oil drains quickly and without problem with vent port open.Plastic is very thick in all areas; zero concerns about puncturing with routine use sliding on asphalt/concrete/gravel.Oil collection drain hole/port is threaded deeply and appears to seal well.Plastic welding around seems is robust.Capacity is more than adequate (16qt).Handle very sturdy.Lower profile design.Cons:Item is plastic welded along seams at sides, which encompasses the spout to empty the container. The somewhat rough edges where it has been joined *could* result in an incomplete seal to the cap at this point.I had some residual plastic flashing around the oil drain spout, which prohibited the cap from biting enough threads to seal well. A razor blade and 15 minutes with a set of files fixed this issue. The cons I've listed some may consider significant, but I've used several different designs (store bought and online), and this is the first that functions well as an all-in-one drain pan and storage unit. Additionally, every other design I've purchased has had much greater issues with the above cons I listed. This should function great for years to come.

Great idea, design and manufacture needs some work
I am an avid DIY, and I am always on the lookout for things that make cleanup easier and faster. Naturally, this product looks like it should be awesome in that regard, and with a few tweaks, I think it would work a ton better.Things I Like about it: The capacity appears large enough to cover 2 oil changes before you need to take it to your recycling center (most Oil change places will take it off your hands for free). The tear away plastic sheets do reduce the amount of clean up you need to do afterwards, and my favorite part, I no longer need a drain pan and a spent oil storage container.Things the product should do better: the drain area is too flimsy, the tear away plastic insert should be (and is) very flimsy, but the black plastic part shouldn't be warped and so distorted. It also needs to be sloped towards the drain plug, and while it looks like it is meant to be, the manufacturing process doesn't seem to get the job done as the surface is anything but flat. Looking at other garage boss products you will note they put the air valve on the same side you drain your oil into... this ensures you get as much capacity as possible in the storage tank, but this version has it on the top, which is in the middle of the unit's height when you are changing your oil. The last thing I would do different, is to increase the size of the drain hole IN the black plastic, and make it slightly smaller in the year away sheer. As seen on the picture, while I don't have to clean the whole thing after each use, I do have to clean about a quarter of it due to oil getting between the year away sheet and the unit.Overall, I give it 3 stars, if it wasn't so expensive, I would provably have given it 4 stars even with the design/manufacture issues. For the money, it just should be better.

Car, mower and tractor oil all in one container!
Yeah, it's big. But, that's why I bought it. I can change the oil in my mower, tractor and car and make one trip to empty it. I have to drain the oil from my riding mower into another container and then poor it into the GarageBoss because of the tight spaces. I have 12 quarts in it so far, no leaks. The removable trays are unnecessary for my needs. But cleanup is easy without them...wipe the drain area with a paper towel. I leave it stored in a corner until I'm ready to take it to the recycler. If you don't need one this big, you might want to consider a smaller version. But if you do need more capacity, this one works very well.

Gets the job done and has a ton of room ...
Gets the job done and has a ton of room, I changed the oil in my 2011 Impala without spilling anything on the ground for the first time ever!! Only thing negative is the tear away sheet can slow the oil going into the pan and cause some bubbling so next time I use it I think I'm gonna not use the sheet.

First time I got oil on driveway--yay!
Thanks to this, I got oil on my driveway for the first time ever in 27 years--in spite of having it on an 8-foot-by-5-foot cardboard slab.- It barely kept up with oil drain; you have to keep the pan perfectly level or it will spill (yes, the breather hole was open)- It will get spatter on the sides, so you'll have to mop all around it- The clear protective piece warped from the heat, making for a nice wind-catcher, and blew off and onto the driveway several feet away, where it dumped its contents (it wasn't even a windy day--it was a one-time momentary breeze)- The container itself also warped...a lot. Protective covers aren't an option anymore since the hole stopped lining up as soon as everything warpedI think I will just leave this at the recycler; I'm concerned it will warp too much and crack at the seams.

Good overall but has a serious design flaw.
I have had good experiences using the 16qt GarageBOSS pan on my sports cars, including ones with higher oil capacities of over 8qts. However I tried to use the pan this weekend with my newly purchased F250 Super Duty and it ended in a giant mess. As soon as the oil started pouring I started to realize I was going to have a bad day. While this drain pan is big enough to hold the oil coming out of my engine, it can't handle the rate at which it comes out. The hole the oil enters to get into the pan isn't very large and it can't move a lot of oil. I ended up watching several quarts overflow all over my floor. Really ruined the experience for me and it's a pretty critical design flaw.
