Will this reduce nitrates in my established cichlid tank?

I have been using this product for many years. I can't say if it does much to lower nitrates, but may help keep nitrate level from rising. Special Blend will help break down waste in your gravel - keeping the aquarium cleaner - reducing need to vacuum. The best ways to lower nitrates are by adding live plants, more frequent water changes, and reducing stock. I use API Nitra-Zorb to keep my nitrate level around 40 ppm (or less). Since my tanks are over-stocked, I am satisfied with that. I do not have live plants. I really like Microbe-Lift TheraP bacteria additive, too.

Is it suppose to have a lot of stuff floating in it or did it go bad? Just bought it yesterday and I don't know if i got a bad bottle ???

I have had film on the sides of my bottles, but when I shake it very well, it goes back into solution. I’ve never had anything floating when I pour it into my fish tank.

Can you use in turtle tank?

MICROBE-LIFT SPECIAL BLEND is specially formulated blend of beneficial bacteria that will create a healthy, balanced aquarium environment – including aquatic turtle habitats. It will effectively reduce excess organics which is really important with turtles that create excess wastes and debris. The use of SPECIAL BLEND will drastically cut down on the amount of maintenance you will need to do.
