Good quality despite some issues
Picture quality is very good. Product is light and has good connectivity. However, I have difficulty connecting my MacMini to this monitor and my other monitor (also Samsung, as a secondary monitor) using the two HDMI ports. The secondary monitor flickers wildly when connected. To resolve the problem, I had to use the D-sub connector to connect this monitor and HDMI to connect the other. Also, the audio output port gives a small electric sound when no audio signal passes to it. The sound is quite audible when using a headphone. The USB port does not play media stored in my USB drive (HDFS formatted). I guess the port works only for drives formatted for Windows. A small issue: one of the two screw sockets at the D-sub port does not connect to the VGA connector's screw. The other socket does. Despite the issues, it is overall a very good product especially considering the low price of $149.99.

Neat Unit to Play Digitized DVD/Video Collection On
I bought this so I could hook up a 1 TB hard drive that has our movie collection digitized from dvds and vhs tapes as well as family movies taken with various digital cameras. I used an older hard drive, FAT formatted, and the Samsung monitor played without a hitch mpg, mp4, avi and mov files as well as the ripped vob files. There is only a slight delay before the movie starts playing after being selected--usually only 2 or 3 seconds. So, Samsung has done a good job on its media player function. You only have to start the movie or a file in a folder, and it will automatically play the next file when the previous one is finished. The TV tuner works just as well as our VIZIO E-Series E241i-A1 24-Inch 1080p 60Hz LED Smart HDTV (tilted base) and pulls in just as many channels when hooked to an antenna. It has a really crisp image (maybe crisper than the TV) so it looks like it would work great as a monitor too. The speakers are adequate--about the volume level of most TVs this size. The volume can be easily adjusted via the remote. You can hook up external speakers if you need more volume. The remote is a bit complex, but does most anything you need to have control over. The only tiny problem is that if you turn it off and then try to turn it back on immediately, it does not always respond. So, sometimes we have to click the on button again. But, this is a small detail almost not worth mentioning. We use this upstairs and the Vizio E241i-A1 smart TV downstairs as media players. The Samsung is a little easier to navigate because its default mode is video whereas the Vizio's default is audio files. And the Vizio's default is playing a thumbnail size movie, whereas the Samsung goes right to full picture. I should mention that I bought refurbished versions of this Samsung monitor and the Vizio smart TV. Both work great, and we saved about $75 on the combined purchase price. All in all this is a great unit and has made our movie/video/picture/music collection readily available in a reasonably priced unit. I would buy it again and am recommending it to family and friends looking for a new monitor or a smaller size HDTV because of its amazing versatility.

probably the best monitor for less than $200
the color representations are pretty true (to my eye anyways). Some viewing angles are not optimal for using as a computer monitor. the contrast gets washed out towards the bottom one or two inches. I have to put this thing on a couple of books to bring it to an appropriate viewing level. For me the 4 inch stand is not high enough even with the monitor angled up. the tv part of this contraption is pretty good. I don't use the built in speakers, but I can tell that in a small room they sound pretty decent, but in a larger room and with other background noise, it needs to be on high volume. I channel the audio out to a stereo for better audio...but thats something I would have done anyways. The remote is pretty minimal...but then this isnt a $2000 tv. The connections in the back are pretty useful. The usb thing is just mostly a gimmick I think (I have never needed to attach a flash drive to any monitor or tv before..(actually that is a lie....before there was streaming technology, I did use these connections) It does work with most common formats..audio and video. bottom line is that its worth the money. I got it on sale for $170 and serves my needs well.

Just perfect for the use of the TV as planned
TV was a gift for my wife to use near her sewing machine and quilting table. Just perfect for the use of the TV as planned. Picture and all else AOK.

Terrible quality on HDMI2
I ordered this monitor because it has 2 HDMI inputs (I have two computers on my desk). Out of the box, if 1920x1080 picture is perfect on HDMI1, it is terrible on HDMI2. Even after tweaking the settings (something is definitely wrong with sharpness), image is not great. Stay away from this monitor if you have two sources requiring HDMI!
