Exactly what I needed - fits PVC
All the different plastic pipes seem to consider an inch to be a variable - not always a true inch. This check valve fit the PVC pipe correctly and was cheaper through Amazon than the local pool store

It's changed since 2009
The spring in my old valve rusted out, so I bought this to replace the mechanism. It fits perfectly in place over the ~14 year old one I had, except for one small thing - there is now a bit of extra plastic on each side to help orient the cap - on the old one there was not. I ended up clipping off the extra plastic and it fit just fine.
