Cute AND comfortable AND well made! It doesn't get much better!!
I am a scientist which means I spend a lot of time on my feet every day, and am required by safety regulations to wear closed toe shoes in the lab at all times. Since I just wear a lab coat every day I get to dress casually, but that doesn't mean I always want to wear my athletic sneakers every day. I'm always on the look out for comfortable, versatile closed toe shoes that are cuter and more fashionable than athletic shoes. I have worn Chuck Taylor slip ons in the past but truth be told they're too narrow for my feet and are uncomfortable for that reason. When I saw these I thought they'd be perfect! They're simple but cute and offer a great deal of support and comfort without being too big and chunky. I have very high arches and LOVE the arch support these offer!! That is so rare to find in a shoe like this! They are well made, high quality shoes. There was very little break in. I had a little rubbing on my heel the first day and it took the tongue a few wears to be really comfortable on the top of my foot (with a no show sock underneath) but otherwise felt great right out of the box! I always wear size 8.5 and these fit exactly as expected. I love that the laces aren't too long and I don't have big ugly bows or tails to flop around when I walk. Sometimes I tuck them in the shoe so they're not visible. Once you tighten them up they stay that way very well on their own without needing to be tied super tight. I couldn't be happier with this purchase and can definitely recommend these! I paid full price.

Great shoes
I owned a pair of Taos previously but they were 3 years old so I needed a replacement pair. They are my go to shoes for the summer when there is a lot of walking as I don’t need socks and they are still comfortable. The cost is worth it due to the great quality.

Great sneaker
Although I have not worn this exact pair yet, I ordered a pair exactly like them from Taos itself. It does have an arch support. It is wide enough in the toolbox. This is a lovely shoe for my workday. I would not, however, go on a hiking trip or do extensive walking on vacation in it but it’s perfect for a little summer dresses and when you need a white plain sneaker.

Short footbed
These were not comfortable. Even though they have a built in arch support, the insoles are rock hard. I wore them for about an hour around the house. They rubbed on the lower bottom of my heal. They fit true to size, but not "deep" enough to keep your foot in.

Size up, but very comfortable and supportive
First, these definitely run small. But they are so worth it to find the right size. I usually wear an 8 in casual/dress shoes and size up to a 9 for running/hiking shoes for adequate space, but I need a 9.5 in this shoe.I purchased these originally six years ago in black and white for a trip to Europe. I bought them right before departing and was very pleasantly surprised at not only how no break-in period was necessary but also at how incredibly comfortable they proved to be. I have worn them frequently over the last six years and though they are dirty, they are still structurally solid.I am heading to Europe again soon, and I found a deal on a white pair in 9 and ordered them thinking I could get away with the smaller size if I stuck with thinner socks. No go. The 9.5 just feels like a safer bet, considering how feet swell. I will say the new pair felt much stiffer compared to my old pair, so they definitely do soften up with time. I'm probably going to stick with my old pair again for this trip since my feet have never once complained while wearing them. I am going to try another reviewer's suggestion of elastic laces as the provided laces definitely require tying and untying each time (something I never do with other shoes).Long story short, size up and enjoy the support and durability.

I was really surprised by these sneakers
My feet are evidently going through puberty again as they've grown from the women's size 9W that they'd been for my 20s and 30s to 10.5WW in my 40s. Fashionable shoe choices for feet this size that also address my other foot problems (namely moderately severe bunions and hammertoes) are almost nonexistent, so I've pretty much given up on "nice" shoes and focused on comfort. Just for reference, my right foot is 5" wide from bunion to bunionette and my left is 4.75" also from bunion to bunionette. These Taos Star sneakers are surprisingly stylish. I heeded previous reviewers' advice to buy a half size up and ordered these in 11W. The fit is just the slightest bit off: the back of the shoes are a touch too wide so my heels slide around (causing my socks to roll underneath my foot) while the front half of the right shoe is a touch too narrow to accommodate my bunions and pinch my pinky toes, causing blisters on my bunions where the tongue meets the shoelace eyelets. A previous reviewer mentioned that the toe box is angled a bit oddly, like a narrow almond shape, and I have to agree. Arch support is impressive to me: there's no abrupt hump on the inside edge of the shoe the way there often is in other shoes. The arch support is gradual and starts almost on the outer edge of the insole. Maybe I'm just easily impressed. :) These Taos sneakers feel stiff in the soles and insoles as I walk; there's not a lot of flexibility so it feels a little like I'm wearing hard shoes instead of sneakers. Weirdly, my feet don't feel as tired or achy after a long day of running around in these as they do in actual athletic shoes. In spite of my complaints, I would buy these again but maybe use a shoe stretcher to widen it out a bit in the toe box.

Loved the look, not the wear!
I bought these shoes in February, and they seemed to fit well. Now that spring has arrived and I wore them for an hour or so , I developed blisters from the switching in the heel cup. What a shame to discover this flaw now that I can no longer get a refund or exchange!

Sturdy shoe. Great arch support. Cute look. Order up in size!
These shoes are super cute. I’m happy with the sturdy arch support. Keeps my foot in place. I wear 8.5 and they fit. Just. Should have gone up to 9. I will buy again.

So uncomfortable - very disappointed
I bought these based on the great reviews. I wanted to wear them around Europe. They looked super cute with Jean shorts. They hurt a little at the top of the foot and by the toes (and I bought a size up). I tested them out one night to a baseball game and they really hurt the whole time. And one of my socks kept falling under and I couldn’t get it back up without untying the show and taking it off. So disappointed that I spent the money and now I have to find new shoes.

The best
I really struggle with getting comfortable footwear that doesn’t look like I’m 90!I have two pairs (Both blue) of these sneakers, I wish it was easier to get them in the UK in different colour. They are comfy to wear, no breaking in can go a good walk in them and they’re comfy.I love them, Come on Taos offer more styles and colours In the uk!
