light duty, but fully functional.
A nice little setup for opening bottles and storing the caps. I own a few of the wall mounted openers and this one is a bit more lightweight than my others, but it's still quite solid. The cap collector is fairly thin metal, but you don't really need something heavy-duty to catch caps. When it was manufactured, mine got a bit dinged up and there's discoloration all over it, but it's only noticeable up close (see photos). Overall, it does its job and looks fairly nice. Great Size, But Colors Do Not Match
My fiancée and I recently moved into our first house, and we have been having so much fun decorating and making everything our own. A friend of ours has a bottle opener with a catcher underneath for saving bottle caps and making them into art projects. Jess and I loved the idea and wanted to do something similar in our own home. When I saw this product I jumped at the opportunity to give it a try.Overall I really do like the product. The dimensions are good, and not too big. I didn’t want to hang something that was super noticeable as it wouldn’t really match our kitchen decor. The smaller size of catch can is perfect for what we were wanting. Everything comes with screws for mounting, and it is very easy to install with a power drill. My biggest complaint, along with many other reviewers, is that the bottle opener color/texture doesn’t match that of the cap catcher. I like the darker color and rougher texture of the opener, but I don’t like the lighter color and smooth texture of the catcher as much. Being that we mounted it in a location that is pretty out of the way this isn’t a major deal breaker, but it is aesthetically disappointing.I received this item at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review. Not happy that colors don't match.
This does what it should...it catches bottle caps. The thing is...I'm not going to use it...because the colors don't match. Several of the other reviewers have noted this as well. Further, the cap catcher seems to be a light weight metal that I don't think will hold up over time. I had a specific place I had planned to put this, but given the color is so different from as pictured, I will give it to my Dad. I'm not sure the color difference would matter so much to a guy, but it definitely does to me.
