This is an interesting Korean black ginseng tonic. It comes in a large, highly presentable, gold-over-black box. Within the box are 6 smaller boxes each containing 5 foil pouches of the tonic, for a total of 30 pouches. Each pouch is 50ml of the tonic. It is pretty easy to drink down. The flavor is decent and has the ginseng taste to it. Not the best taste and not the worst neither. It is watery and lightly sweet. The only negative is I have with this tonic that I don't feel an energy boost that I normally do when I take a ginseng product. Not sure how much ginseng is actually in it. It doesn't mention the amount of ginsenosides anywhere in the packaging. The ingredients are Korean black ginseng concentrate, purified water, Korean red ginseng mixed extract, herb extract, jujube concentrate, cornus fruit concentrate, vitamin C and citric acid. The product I received has an expiration date of 27 months from now. Overall, I quite like it. It is easy to drink down and the flavor is not bad. Actually, I like it better when chilled. It definitely has ginseng in it but apparently not enough for me to sense an energy boost. Your mileage may vary though.

I had never heard of black ginseng before, but I guess it is a new thing with ginseng these days. I know about red ginseng, however. According to the description on the product page, black ginseng has a higher absorption rate than white or red ginseng. Anyhow, the package or the box that contains 30 pouches came in a well designed and carefully packaged box. By the look of the packaging design, I could tell this set is not a cheaply made product. Each pouch has about 50 ml (little over a shot glass size) of black ginseng tonic, which is a dark brown color. The taste is decent from ginseng tonic drinker’s point of view, but I am sure there will be some who will not like the tastes. I would describe as not sweet, not bitter, and not fruity. There is a hint of date (jujube) juice flavor as well. This ginseng is not as strong as I had hoped, but it is drinkable as a shot and does not taste disgusting or anything. Overall, this ginseng tonic is not bad. I do not know if I ever could get an immediate effect from drinking one shot (probably not), but usually I take this kind of ginseng drink for improving energy level and overall health, anticipating effectiveness will come gradually over a long period of time. I am almost done with the whole box and have been taking one or two pouches per day. There were days I felt extremely exhausted, and some days were energetic. I did not see the quick change in my energy level after drinking one ginseng tonic, but as far as my mood and energy over the past several weeks, I feel better and balanced. I am sure it probably takes double dose consumption everyday over a year or more to see the significant changes or improvement, but for now, even just for the feel of it, I know this ginseng tonic is good stuff for me.
