I'm not sure if they're BPA free. But it's not real good quality for liquid measure. Good for dry measure though.

Will both ends easily fit in thin spice jars?

No it is kind of bulky. I was hoping it would fit in small spice jars too. The sliding adjustments also do not stay in place as they should. Pampered Chef makes a better product.
