This is incredible paper!
I wanted to see how watercolor would look, so I did a lavender (muted purple) and a red, just a quick test, as I need a testing piece anyway. I feel like this photo shows the true color of the paper as well as the watercolor, even the muted color looked exactly as it should along with the red. I also sew clothing, so I was extremely impressed by the soft feel of the paper. This isn’t rough parchment like, but soft, far softer than typical high end watercolor color paper, but will work perfectly for brush lettering. I used a size 6 paint brush for the word love and the color didn’t bleed or show thru the back. This company sells amazing products at extremely reasonable prices. I just ordered a leather journal that has 288 pages of this paper for under $30. This is definitely worth trying. As for the color, it is darker than the advertisement picture, but I think this picture, as well as some others posted here, show the actual color. The box and packaging are equally as fantastic as the paper inside and this would make a fabulous gift for any art student or those who love working with “aged” paper.***when you need that “perfect” outline, use the transfer method. Take your image and flip it over, rub the back with graphite block (pastels works great too) then flip it back over so you can see your picture (use some washi tape to secure your image & paper together). Use an embossing tool to LIGHTLY trace the edges of your outline, gently peak off tape & you’ll have your perfect outline w/out needing to erase. The only erasing for this paper is a gentle tap w/kneaded eraser. Don’t rub or press too hard w/embossing tool. You don’t want to indent the paper, but this will give you a perfectly soft outline.

My New Favorite Watercolor Paper!
This handmade cotton paper is perfect for all types of watercolor painting. The surface is as soft as smooth flannel. It accepts both transparent and opaque colors, but you may need to apply layers to build up transparent colors, for example some transparent yellows.I applied paint with a dampened brush and the paper grabbed the color nicely and allowed for subtle color blends. Paint can be very gently lifted with a wet brush, but only the lightest of rubbing as too much will also pick up the patina of the paper and leave light areas. I did not find it to pill the surface. All in all, I really love the nostalgic feeling this paper evokes. My new favorite!

Very Impressed with this paper
This paper was so much more than I expected. I hand make cards and I prefer an antique look to them. Until now I have only used traditional cardstock . Now I can have this beautiful paper as a backing to my images. The paper has a very soft natural feel to it. It arrived in a presentation box which I did not expect. I love it!

Awesome Paper!
This paper came so nicely presented in its box. It's really fun to work on it. Took water color very well, even when very saturated. This is a lot of paper for the price! Would definitely recommend this paper.

Unique paper
The paper holds water well, as long as you don’t go too heavy. I like to do a pencil outline on paper first, but with this paper, you don’t want to erase, as it ruins the texture and you can still see the marks. So if you can make a good outline without erasing, you’ll do fine. I like the paper, but it does require more of a gentle and thoughtful approach than with most watercolor paper. Once the color is on the paper, it holds well, and I don’t get a lot of buckling. The paper isn’t well-suited to wet on wet, and if you make a mistake, it doesn’t clean up easily. So the take-away message is to go slow, be mindful, and you’ll like what you’re able to do with this paper.

Challenging for Watercolor
I liked the look of this paper and decided to try it. My first experience with using to use this paper for watercolor was a disaster...the paint bled through the paper, it was blotchy and not at all friendly to watercolor. I kept experimenting with it, and I tried giving it a thin coat of transparent watercolor ground and on another piece, I tried a thin coat of clear gesso. Both of these two options did help to give me back some of the properties I love about watercolor. Be aware that you will have to experiment and be creative about how to use this paper for watercolor, however, it will give you some unique results and stretch your creativity!
