Good To Have
I awoke around 3am this morning to find the power was off. Checking the power company website, I learned that the power had been off since 2am and there was no information on when it would be restored. My thoughts went to the aquarium and I remembered the little battery power air pump that I had bought on a whim a few months ago. I fumbled around in the dark and found the pump and a couple of D size batteries and got it going. I don’t know how long it takes for fish to get in distress in a 60 gallon tank with no aeration but I sure felt better knowing that some air movement was happening. The power came back on about an hour later...I never did get back to sleep. That’s why I’m up writing Amazon reviews at five in the morning. 🤦🏻♂️

Great as an emergency backup
I had to order one of these when Dallas got hit by a large storm and we were without power for a week; it kept my sponge filter running and functional with one set of batteries for the three days between me getting it and power getting on. Worked well enough that I didn't have any casualties in a 40 gallon tank. Granted, the tank is heavily planted and only moderately stocked.I'd never use a battery powered pump for day to day operation but as an emergency backup? it was a godsend and not expensive.I did *not* use the included airstone, so I can't comment on it, but the pump is good.

Lasts for over 72 hours of quality batteries!
I keep a large amount of aquatics, I purchased these as backups for aeration in the event of prolonged power outage. All pumps of 6 tested and worked properly. I tested 1 to see how long it would run until the batteries ran out. It exceeded expectations by far. The entire time there was a steady stream of bubbles, not barely pumping until it died. It ran well until the batteries fully drained. Good product!

Use good batteries and bring extra!
I needed these bubblers for a long distance drive from New York to Florida, which was about 18 hours in total. They do make a bit of noise, but I had the music on for the whole car ride so I couldn't hear them. I tried to use these for my 2 fish that I was taking with me and it didn't work out so great. I purchased a giant pack of new batteries for them and figured I wouldn't need to use them since the description on here says they run for 40 hours or something along those lines. Even with quality, brand new batteries, they ran out sooooo fast. I replaced the batteries in each of the 2 bubblers twice and still had one of them die before we arrived. I checked on them every 4 hours to make sure they were still running and half the time, one of them had quit. I ended up running out of batteries so one died permanently for the rest of the drive. I kept alternating the working bubbler between the buckets so that there was oxygen in the water at least every 4 hours. Long story short, both of my fish survived (albeit barely) but took a month to recuperate from it. I do not recommend this product unless you're using it for a short period of time or have a TON of extra batteries with you.
