Worth the experience.
If you enjoy a mild coffee flavor, this is for you. The beans are light in color and at first, the aroma, to me, was a little off, but it is such a mild coffee bean that I have decided that is the reason. There is certainly an undertone of chocolate. In the smell and the taste. I had read where these beans are hard to find, yet I found them on Amazon. I do believe they are grown only in the Philippines. I ground a batch for my French Press, so that would be a coarse grind. Not impressed at all. I, then, ground a finer batch for the drip machine. I highly recommend that one for these beans. Use a medium grind and set your coffee maker to BOLD. It made a very nice cup of coffee. I probably will not purchase these beans again as I do prefer a much stronger cup of coffee, but I am trying out coffee beans and this was a good experience.

A new experience
It seems to be a lighter roast with a crisp, breakfast blend style flavor. It's good, but not my favorite flavor profile. I'm glad that I bought it though, and got to try real Filipino coffee. I recommend to people who like to try new things.

Great Filipino Coffee!
The coffee is as advertised. The packaging indicates that it is Barako coffee and has region of origin identification for Philippines. These are uncommon, endangered liberica coffee beans.

Not enough beans
I weighed the bag an it was missing about 15% from advertised, but apart from that the beans were strong and had a good flavor.

Different smell and flavor.
This is the strangest coffee (non flavored coffee) I have ever put to my lips. When I opened the bag the smell was very off putting and the after tastes is very strange indeed. I made it with my single cup drip maker with a metal filter. I probably should have set it to bold.I do like my coffee strong so I ground it espresso style. I will play with grind some to see if there is any improvement in flavor. I'm trying different coffees and I doubt I will buy this again, but you never know, it might grow on me. I mean, how many actually enjoyed their first cup of joe, right? My next cup will a South American Arabica I bought with this purchase.

stale coffee
I wanted to love this coffee. 2 major types of beans took over most of the market - Arabica and Robusta. I've wanted to try this Liberica. but the bag of beans seem stale and doesn't have aroma -- it's probably sitting in shipping container and warehouses for a long time before arriving amazon warehouse.

Old
Iโm very sorry that I did not open this coffee sooner. It is so old and stale. It doesnโt smell like coffee and it has no flavor at all. Very regretful.
