durable but hard to clean dust

These are great mats - nice and thick, well finished. I like the "larger" size of this one because it has more useful working area for small jobs where I don't want to clear the bench and pull out my larger mat or still-larger ESD mat. The part compartments are a bit larger than some other mats, more useful imho. As long as you understand that 100% silicone mats will NEVER be ESD safe, you should be very happy with these. There are actually some silicone formulations that can be close to static free but they don't seem to be in the consumer market yet for some reason. These can pick up a stronger charge sometimes but it's usually pretty minimal - still enough that if you are working on particularly sensitive components then you should skip this and buy a legit ESD surface and hook it up correctly instead of using this one. Generally typical mitigation methods are enough to make this safe for most things as long as you work smart. Flux and solder spatter don't stick to this so it's easy to keep clean and you're going to have to leave a very very hot iron on it for some time in order to damage the surface but even then it's so minimal as to not matter at all. Acetone and alcohol are no concern either. These are easy to clean if they get linty or gritty from household dust - just run hot water over them and let them air dry, or you can spray them generously and wipe lightly with a decent microfiber cloth. It's a little quizzical that they come packaged in a mylar zip bag over the factory plastic wrap - easy marketing maybe but surely it adds to the cost. Good buy, though, great general purpose mat. If you want silicone and a larger size still, check out some of the kitchen products - there are a couple that are thicker (about 2mm) and do not have the compartments molded in, and they work well without going to a more expensive and much larger electronics bench mat.

Robuste, résistant et discret, souple et facile ranger. Pourquoi facile a ranger ? Parce que ne pas souder tout les jours mais faire de l'électronique est possible... et que ce tapis qui est tel que décrit sans plus... il n'est ni dissipatif, ni conductif. C'est du silicone galvanisé et très robuste. Un produit très résistant aux abrasions diverses. Bref dans mon cas, c'est exactement ce don j'avais besoin pour ne pas endommager mon tapis ESD Protection MAT qui vaut tout de même assez cher et n'est pas aussi résistant à la chaleur. Excellent ! Se rince a l'eau et nettoie comme un charme . Je recommande

Great mat for repairs. I thought the screw slots were magnetic but there’s only one small magnetic section on the mat. It’s a fairly large size great for small repairs. Overall solid but for the money. The little compartments are big enough to hold a small flash drive if that gives you a comparison
