A book full of information and inspiration for any one interested in rope soloing.

This is the book of dark arts, solo climbing (with a rope). Entertaining and many useful Kirckpatricknessy techniques. Wait for his next book (something big wall climbing) or get this book before. The chapter about how to descent really made me feel the pain in Andys legs and feet. Highly recommend it as a entertaining instruction book. Not very useful though if you are not inspiring on big wall solo climbing, but all the same, very entertaining!

I would not recommend this for any beginner climber, unless they're looking to use up their medical deductible in a hurry. That said, if you're highly experienced and are curious about rope soloing, this represents around 90% of what mankind currently knows about the subject.As with Kirkpatrick's other books, there is no holding back on detail. This is not a "fun let's read it on Sunday" book, but more of a "I don't want to die so I need to know everything about this topic" book.

Yo lo compré simplemente por curiosidad.A los que lo quieran leer con la intención de escalar en solitario tengo que advertirles que el asegurador que recomienda el autor para estos menesteres, el silent partner, ya no se fabrica y creo que ya no se puede encontrar ni siquiera en ebay.
