We had a tenant in our house with a fire place have no idea what they were burning and how. Thank God they didn't burn our house down. I have tried different ways to clean nothing worked. I came across this product on Amazon and the reviews were good so I figure I would try as a last resort, and it was very I expensive so I wasn't losing anything. Although I read the direction I was surprised to see that this was a very thick product. I shot the bottle up to hopefully soften slightly to make it come out of the bottle easier, it did. I sprayed the brick first with water, then applied the gel with the brush and gave it a good scrub then let it sit for 10- 15 min, came back scrub a little more then rinsed off with hot water. It looked good but decided a second coat might make it look better, repeated the process and it looks al.ost brand new. I didn't do the I side yet as I was excited about this product and wanted to do a review first.

Works really well, and it's great that is non-toxic and abrasive. You can literally apply with your bare hands. You do need to scrub it in pretty well after applying. And make sure to "rinse" the brick afterwards. It's slow work, but it pays off.

I don’t know if this stuff works or not. I used to get spray nine fireplace cleaner and really liked it because it worked. I can no longer find that. But this came with a brush and when I got it it was separated and so I shook it and it never did blend. It was a pink thick gravy in liquid . The directions said to smear this on and then brush to clean. No sure why they put such a thick substance inside of a bottle that was meant to be poured. I felt that as thick as it was it should’ve been put in a tub of some sort but it could’ve been scooped out. I also felt like this wasn’t easy clean. I scrubbed and scrubbed on my sooted windows and still can’t get it all off. I’ve been quite disappointed. I think I’m going to try to find something else to try to clean my fireplace windows. We use our fireplace to heat our house. So we do not like to let our fireplace get cold to clean the windows. Sometimes the windows can be rather warm when we’re cleaning them. I have it a three star because for some this might work but for me it didn’t. I give it a one star for ease of use because of a thick substance in a pouring bottle.

Done a great job we had a really bad stain from natural stone getting burned & it removed it almost completely 1st clean. Will repeat so it’s all gone
