it is 'petals encased in resin' with gold foil edging. nothing more. it is well crafted and is beautiful. just know what you are getting.

Purchased for my wife and she really likes it. She's only had it a week so durability can't be addressed, but it is a very pretty piece of jewlery.

Bought as gift

I bought this on a whim? I have a beautiful Italian made rose (14k gold) ring and I’m wearing red and navy tops and thought it might look nice together? I bought the colourful one but ordinarily I wouldn’t, I bet it’s quite lovely in the other versions. I will keep this one, it’s a bit pricy but it looks like the real deal, no regrets. The chain with mine is fine, has a mesh type of look? If you don’t want it for your daily never take it off necklace I think you’ll be happy, it’s just right, not overly big but not too dainty either.
