product description says 13 in, product dimensions says 19in and the comment review says it came 15 in..... so what is the legnth?

The handle is 13”. From end of handle to top of axe head is 15”. Blade is 3.5” and head is 6.25” long. Great hatchet spent 3 hours chopping spruce kindling still sharp as new.

Amazon has this listed as the new version. What is the difference? Did they work out the problem with the axe head breaking?

This axe head is made by hults bruk, if you are not familiar with them they make some amazing axes out of sweden, id say high end, so this is a great buy.

Could yhis hatchet be used for carving spoons ?

You might be able to rough out the big chunk to carve from with a knife, but I wouldn't want to carve the whole thing with it. It is a nice hatchet though.

Honest opinion between this and hults bruk jonaker hatchet?

I'd take this hatchet any day over that one even having never touched it. Save 100$ and get the Husqvarna. This hatchet has a permanent place in my "gear that could save my life" category.
