Outstanding value. Don't overpay for a Bible with PCE text someplace else.
This Bible indeed contains the text of the Pure Cambridge Edition (PCE circa 1900) and passed the checklist for such. (The publisher also directly states it as being PCE text.)The only edits I see are it alters the page header titles slightly and the subscript info is removed. Which is fine with me. I never liked having those in there and a Bible should only contain God's Word. So in that sense, one can't say it's a perfect PCE copy, again though, the Word of the Bible text itself seems unchanged and is PCE.As for build quality and format: it's a very sturdy glued hardcover and the text is an easy to read font with double column and no clutter in the form of notes or commentary, etc. Pages are not too thin but they are not overly thick either so require slight care. It's a good thickness though, it keeps the book very light in the hand and does not feel like lugging around a huge brick.Final notes:Mine did have some crush damage as if something very heavy and square shaped was on top of it for a while, but no big deal as it's on the back and should go away eventually if I put a heavy flat item on top myself to straighten it out.I also tested the book sturdyness by bending it, stepping on it, turning pages while upside down, side to side shaking binding tests, page tugging, etc... Close inspection of glued area after all this indicates it's just fine with no additional damage or lose pages. Of course I can't judge on how well it will survive over years of use, but it is a great build for the price to be sure. I would suggest you place book repair, or otherwise some kinda tape, on the cover/page seams on each end of the book where it holds to the cover. (on each of the first few page seams at the start/finish of the book) This is generally the first place damage will start to happen and is a good preventive action. So yeah... nothin fancy, no shiny gold sided pages or engraved cover, no gothic fonts or latching clasps, but if that's what you want in a Bible, my guess is you will just use it as a decor item and not even read it through anyways, and that would be a shame to say the least. These things are meant to be abused with heavy reading and referencing, and this one will do fine for that. God's Word is not, and was never meant to be, a decor item or a doorstop. lol

Quality Plain KJV Bible
Nice, sturdy cover and readable text. The text is "normal", not squashed like in some Bibles where the letter "h" is barely distinguishable from the letter "n", etc. Holding a ruler vertically on the page, there are 9 lines of text per inch. (This should be the unit of comparison. Stating a font size does not clearly convey text size unless the font style is also stated, whether Calibri, Palatino, Verdana, etc.) Page thickness and opaqueness are good. Entirely black letter; (good -- since the entire Bible is God's word, not just what Jesus spoke). No references nor study materials nor other additives. This is the quality, plain KJV Bible I wanted and am very happy to have finally found. Hopefully Holman keeps making them like this. "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men." (Titus 2:11.) Read it and find out for yourself.

The Best Bible for newly saved! No guide, No footnotes, No titles for chapters, No commentaries
The only bible version that I trust. This is the only True Word of God. I recommend newly saved christians to get this King James Bible version(only) that has little to no additional information as possible. Dont get intimindated by the words thou, thine, thus and other words. Let your Holy Spirit be your primary teacher and let Him teach you alone and not with bible commentaries or other notes or guides from other pastor, priest or people. Trust your Holy Spirit alone and your final authority must always be the bible.Never every get NIV, NKJV, NLT, CEV, NASB, ESV and all other bible versions. These are all corrupted and perverted Word of God that supports satan's false doctrines and false teachings of false religions.

The bible and nothing else
This is the plainest bible I ever saw. Other than two black and white maps at the end, this bible contains nothing besides the bible text itself. There are absolutely no footnotes of any type. It is a black letter edition. There are no section headings. Words added by translators are in italics. This is a black hardcover bible, one which stays open by itself when opened on a desk. Inner margins are wide enough so that inner text is easily read. The font size is typical for bibles. The one problem is bleed through. This bible has about the average amount. I can see not only the page I am reading, but the page on the other side. The page is thick enough that it is difficult to read the underlying page through blank spots on the current page. This bible is definitely readable even with the bleed through, especially if the page is held up while reading it in order to cut bleed through.

King James Rules, New Revised Sucks
You will never again have the precise, high-minded language of the King James version of the Bible, so enjoy it while it's still in print, before the New Revised Standard Version renders it obsolete. Modern versions of the Bible have been edited for that lowest-common-denominator trait, "readability," which means they've been dumbed down to street talk instead of pumped up to high speech, like the KJV. This version of the Bible sounds like a document translated by smart people, from knowledgeable sources, and it feels like the received word of God through its concise use of language and word choice. In short, this book sounds authoritative in a way the NRSV, with its colloquial speech, does not and never will. It will always be my Bible of choice and will be the only one on my shelf, NRSV need not apply!

Pure Cambridge editon circa 1900 and easier to read than some old english King James
Pure Cambridge Edition 1900, verified. For those who do not know, there are some bibles that have poor translations that change the meaning and this is the most accuracte true to the history, bible that you could find besides learning the original text. Also, though this is King James version bible, english translation in this is much easier to read and understand due to being more modern and less old english. I have another King James version bible which has old english and isn't as easy to read.Only thing I would like to see would be red lettering.
