Greenworks PRO 80V Lithium Ion Single Port Rapid Battery Charger GCH8040

I had to return this item due to an error in ordering. But I have ordered this same charger in the past, and it's very reliable. It charges the batteries quickly, it seems to be waterproof - I've left it out in the rain with no problems, though I wouldn't make habit of that.

I bought this as an Amazon Resell and it arrived less its original packaging but did include the owner's manual and in excellent, like-new condition showing no signs of usage. I installed a fully charged 80V 3.5Ah aftermarket Greenworks battery, which fit perfectly, and attached my Internet router. The router states is consumes 32w of power. The battery is advertised as having 280 watts of stored power. The router remained powered for just short of 9 hours. This 9 hours (8.8 hours) equates to 282 watts of power. This power supply kept the router powered correctly for the whole time. I bought this unit as a back up power supply for the Internet as my rural location experiences significant numbers of power outages each year. I will now be able to keep connected to the land line Internet and power a tablet at the same time. Also, this is a very compact piece of equipment. Very good value for the money.

I have a lot of a green works products and I enjoy all of them. They were great efficient and battery. Life is long. The. Green Work charger is very durable. Value and. Of the battery is excellent. It was a very good.

Great product, I got this to take advantage of my greenworks batteries when not in use for yardwork to back up power to a tankless water heater or just charge my phone. Highly recommended for an affordable inverter. Battery fits well into casing.

I have purchased many 80v Greenworks products (e.g., lawn mower, leaf blower) and have been very satisfied with the products themselves. However, I have had issues with the batteries and battery chargers failing. On the plus side, when the failures have occurred within the warranty period (even with refurbished units), Greenwood has promptly sent me replacements (that may be an advantage of purchasing directly from Greenworks). The one charger I ordered through Amazon and paid for was to replace one that was not covered under the warranty for some reason that I no longer remember. With the thought that the charger failures may have been made more likely because I used to leave them powered on all the time, I now turn the power off when they are not in use.

This item was received inside a box that was not damaged but the actual box the item was in looked like it had been kicked around a couple of times. I opened it anyway since the item working was the main concern and it did work just fine. Most importantly is this can run my wifi router in case of a power outage. We had this case back in late April and had no way to charge our phones, etc. and we were unable to access the home wifi. I was trying to get my mother checked in for her flight and the power being out just made a mess of our plans. My main reason for getting this unit was I already using greenworks products so I had the batteries already, so no extra expense on that front. It can't handle anything major like a saw or vacuum but rarely is anyone worried about vacuuming when the power is out! I would recommend this product if you are already using other greenworks cordless tools and have the 80 volt batteries.

I purchased this because two of my other Greenworks chargers died around the same time that the batteries cease to function. In a call to the support team, I wanted to know if there was correlation between a bad battery, messing up a charger or a bad charger, messing up a battery. They were fantastic in explaining that there is a four year warranty on the batteries and the chargers. I had no idea. I provided them with the model number and the serial numbers and copies of the Amazon invoices that were approximately eight months short of the four year purchase dates. They sent me two new chargers and two new batteries, so I returned this charger. I own several Greenworks products and after this last show of support from their company, I would never waver from them.

It does not work. I bought a plug adaptor (2pin flat to UK 3 pin). Whether it is the unit or the adaptor I have no way of checking but I can not get the unit to receive power. I have already asked for assistance but no-one has responded. Update. To be doubly sure this was not an adaptor problem I bought a second top spec 13 amp adaptor. Item still doesn't work. I even changed the fuse - "just in case" - still no power to unit. A marathon waste of time and additional cost. They now expect me to take it to UPS. Well, UPS can come and collect it. After this nonsense I do not need 50 mile round trip to return faulty goods. Both exasperated and disappointed with, firstly, faulty goods and, secondly, with the total lack of interest from both Amazon and the seller. It is now packed up ready for collection and I trust someone will take the trouble to arrange for UPS to collect at Greenworks expense. 100% inefficient service UPDATE. Eventually got through to a human at Amazon who, despite being tricky to understand has helpfully arranged for a courier to collect. The courier arrived as scheduled and the item is now in return transit. Something positive but could it not have been made a lot easier at an earlier juncture?

It’s a battery charger and it works, it’s noisy but it works well.
