Fantastic lure for trout and bass
I don’t typically write Amazon reviews, but this lure warrants my support. This is my go-to lure for ultralight fishing in the summer months. I am lucky enough to live near a limestone spring-fed creek in PA that is teeming with wild brown trout. Almost all of my catches I owe to the crick hopper. I have also caught large and smallmouth bass out of ponds and native PA brook trout out of small mountain streams. This lure does it all. I have had the most success with the summer hopper and sunburst colors. Most of my catches have relied on this lure’s excellent subsurface action with a steady slow retrieve, but you can also fish it topwater with light twitches. I typically replace the trebles with #8 inline single hooks. You might lose an extra fish or two, but you get a much easier release on the fish you catch, which is less harmful for the fish. I make sure I am always stocked up with several of these before any fishing outing.

efficient
This lure is perfect for an ultra light setup on the shore or pond. Its action is pretty good and I caught a fish with it every few casts, though the back hook tends to get caught in the hoop for tying it on

Pond Bass Catcher
This is the all time best lure for multi species, but it will catch the bass. Just throw it in the pond, it works.

Fish catcher in ponds and small lakes
Rebel Lures Crickhopper Cricket/Grasshopper Crankbait Fishing Lure, 1 1/2 Inch, 1/4 Ounce - I have this in a few different color patterns. Fire tiger and brown cricket seems to work best for me in small ponds and lakes. I have one tied on and ready to go almost every fishing trip I take. If I see fish breaking the surface to eat bugs I throw this at them ASAP! I fish it mostly like a top water. Slow slight rod twitches. Strikes come on 3 - 5 second pauses most of the time. Sometimes pretty savage strikes as soon as you start to move it again after a pause. Super fun!

Almost Unfair Advantage
From the moment I cast this one (summer hopper) into the water the fish are just going nuts over it. Fish like to eat bugs and things that fall from trees or docks. If there's a bream or small bass with a few feet of where this thing his the water BOOM I've got a fish hooked. The very first time I cast it I caught a Bluegill that was just over 2 1/4 pounds along a dock. Granted all the others I've caught have been nothing like that monster but when I'm ultra light fishing under trees and along docks the thing catches fish like crazy. I got several others in the lineup and only the brownish crayfish has the same appeal .I can't recommend this thing enough at its ability to mimic a bug that just fell in the water and is in "oh crap what do I do now? Let me trying swimming to shore, no maybe turn around, no maybe......" mode. Most times within a couple of feet of where it hit I'm working the drag and reeling in the next one if there's one there. The hooks are very sharp, making it better on the fish and easier to remove.I'm bank fishing in stained water ponds using an Ugly Stik 5' ultra light with Lews Laser Lite spinning reel and 6# mono line. This lure is just plain fun to use and, for me, catches fish no matter the time of day . I can cast it short, long , slingshot or skip and they all get results.Edit: Caught numbers 9 (a bluegill) and 10 (1.5 pound bass) on this one yesterday . My granddaughter (6) caught her first fish ever on a Summer Hopper yesterday as well . My youngest daughter (15) has caught several bluegill and smaller bass with her summer hopper as well .

Looks good.
Haven't tried it yet. I do have the 3/16 oz version already and have caught scores of bluegill on it. The 1/4 oz is a fair bit larger but should attract the largest bluegill, as well as bass.
