Very cool
Great for starting tomatoes inside, haven’t had any ripe enough to try but love that it’s so easy to set up.

Outstanding tomatoes from the comfort of your home
From the wooden box on down, this little tomato-growing kit is a fun, educational way to grow some remarkably tasty tomatoes, way better than the cherry tomatoes we get from the grocery store. Plus, I’d never heard of or seen three of the four types of tomatoes in this kit.The wooden box that holds everything has an elegant look and a top that slides open with ease. Within it is a whole slew of items to get growers growing immediately—shears, seeds, and soil disks encompass just some of what’s included. We grew our tomatoes next to the window of my home office. Admittedly, it’s not the most ideal place to grow food, but sunlight filters into the room regularly, and I can keep a close eye on how the ‘matoes are doing.I don’t consider myself a “green-thumb” grower in the least, but truly, anyone can start growing tomatoes right away with this kit. Everything needed is included, and the instructions are easy to follow. If you’ve ever had an inclination to grow small tomatoes indoors, or if you’re looking for a unique gift for the right type of person, don’t hesitate to get this product. It’s a lot of fun and makes you feel good once you see—and taste—the results!

A fun little tomato starter kit that could make a good gift
As a gardener, when I saw this little starter kit available on VINE, I agreed to give it a real-world review. In this case, I'm doing that as an experienced gardener without actually having planted these seeds. I'm writing the review now, because other customers probably will be making decisions later this autumn for possible Christmas gifts. We live in Michigan, however, and the earliest I would start indoor seeds like this is late March. Our last-frost date is late May and I tend to start indoor seeds at most only eight weeks prior to that. So, here's my first tip: Unless you've also got an indoor grow-light area set up in your home, which some people do have, then this kit is not intended for use right away in the wintry northern states. What I like about the kit, and what makes it fun as a gift, is that it's got this attractive little wooden box into which the four small "grow bags" can be nestled. The kit also comes with four interesting varieties of tomatoes. In fact, here's a second tip: The kit comes with way more seeds than you'll want to plant in these little grow bags. So, if you're an experienced gardener, you could do more with this seed kit than just the little planting area provided in the kit. In fact, if you know some gardener friends, you actually could share the extra seeds with them.We have friends and family who enjoy dabbling with plants and gardening from time to time. So, I could see this being a great Christmas gift with the promise of spring implied in the gift. One final tip: If you're thinking of starting seeds inside the house, you will need to scout out a sunny location, or provide grow lights, or you could wind up with some spindly failures due to lack of light. The box is small enough that it actually fits on one wide window sill we have with good sunlight, but it wouldn't fit on most of the sills in our home. So think about possible sunny or well-lit locations in advance. So, I can't say I've planted this kit and raised mature tomatoes. I'd have to wait most of a year to file a review to get that far along in the process. But, as an experienced gardener, I hope this assessment is helpful. Finally, most home gardeners actually don't bother with raising small plants from seed. Usually, we visit garden stores in the spring and choose hearty little plants that the professionals have raised until they're ready to place in the soil outdoors. So, my last point is: This kit really is a "fun" family project, not any way to raise tomatoes at a reasonable price. In the spring, you can buy quite a few hearty tomato plants at a garden store for the price of this one kit with four tiny grow sacks. But, hey, growing things is supposed to be fun.

great set, only needs more potting soil
This starter kit is quite giftable. A good idea as a present for someone who is just starting their gardening journey. All planted seeds germinated. The only problem I have with this set is there was NOT ENOUGH dirt; the amount included only fills up 1/3 of a planter bag, so I had to use my own to mix it together etc. When I think of a "kit" I imagine that everything necessary would be included, but in this case, if you are planning to give this one as a gift to someone, please include an extra dirt bag :) they will appreciate it too :) Other than that it looks nice, it grows and the wooden box can be used as seed storage box as well. Seedling planter bags are lined with plastic and have drainage hole as well, and you place them in a drip tray, so there's no mess! Manufacturer- please add more "dirt" in the kit!

Beautiful starter kit
I bought another kit from Garden Republic before and the quality is just fantastic. The kit comes with a beautiful wooden box that slides open and holds four small Jute Bags, four soil discs, four varieties of tomato seeds: Green Tomatoes, Yellow Pear Tomatoes, San Marzano Tomatoes, and Red Cherry Tomatoes as well as four wooden markers and tiny shears for pruning. It's a perfect way to start a tomato garden indoors on a window seal or under a grow lamp. The quality is just beautiful. Will not disappoint anyone. Makes a great gift. Will purchase again.

Lovely Package, But Low Germination
What I liked about this kit is that it provides everything you need to start the seeds. Its super helpful in that way. Sadly, only 6 seeds in total sprouted. I planted all 4 types of tomatoes, followed the instructions and only 2 of the tomato types sprouted. 4 Cherry tomatoes and 2 Aunt Ruby's. I would say to try at your own risk because it was a nice kit with helpful instructions and materials but not all of the seeds may sprout.

Tomato Grow Kit
This is a cute little kit. It contains four packs of seeds, each a different variety, four small burlap bags, four soil discs, four plant markers, plastic shears and instructions. They are packaged in a flimsy wooden box which can be used as a planter. It is more harvest season than growing season so I am trying them indoors. I have a decent grow lamp so there is hope. Too early to see results. It is cute and definitely giftable though overpriced for what you get.
