Is this wire hard to cut?

No, we used regular side cutting pliers. Just any that you have in a tool box or from a local hardware store. I wouldn't use scissors though it might dull them.

If I'm firing to cone 05 (roughly 1888°) will the wire bend if it is holding a bisqued piece that weighs up to 1/2 pound?

I can’t answer that correctly. I was firing Raku at the time. But as you know raku temperature can fluctuate.

Can I use it to make a lightsaber?

Our wires measure 11 gauge (.0907 inches thick or 2.305mm). An alloy of nickel and chromium, they can withstand temperatures up to 2100° F with a melting point of 2534° F.
