If you are looking for a wide prime, look no further
This lens is definitely the best value you can get out of any lens in the market. For less than £300 you are getting an incredibly lightweight, very fast ultra-wide lens with a superb image quality and more than decent auto focus.Built quality is OK for the price, with an all plastic body that doesn't feel cheap and with a dust and moist gasket at the mount. Weight is really good, with a virtually non-existent footprint in both weight and size, there is no excuse to keep this lens at home.Image quality is amazing, specially at this price range. I won't go into detail here, but I highly recommend Sonyalpha.blog's review for samples and an in-depth analysis. Finally, auto focus is the major upgrade on this classic entry level lens, and although is very nice to have, I find the motor a bit rattly for my taste, with a very heavy focus breathing as well. I don't know if it is my unit, as I couldn't find similar experiences while looking for reviews. This being said, focus is quite fast and very accurate after f/2.8.TL;DR: Every photo enthusiast with a Sony APS-C camera should have this lens, budget permitting.

A very good wide angle lens for video
This lens practically stays on my camera all the time. The weight and size make it very appealing for vlogging and a smaller camera set up.I use it in the zv-e1 and can zoom past the vignetting with all the AF features and 4k. Autofocus is good enough, although suffers from some breathing. The quality is what you expect for the price, plastic but that kind of makes it more usable as I really put it through its paces. I would recommend this lens as a budget wide lens for video.

Samyang always delivers quality.
I've received and the first thing I did was to test the lens with a test chart because I have seen so many comments on quality control issue. Fortunately, all four corners are in focus and in plane, no misalignment found. Now time to have fun. Interestingly my lens seems to have originated from German market based on a small note included, somehow delivered from Spain to the UK. Delivery was quick, happy with the price that was dropped to the lowest point over the last few years. Patience paid off.

Great lens
It came one time. It is amazing. Would recommend buying. 👌 good field of view, background blur is good. Autofocus great.

Terrific sharpness.
Loved the sharpness and contrast at 100 percent of the Samyang 12mm wideangle lens on my Sony alpha 6100.

So far so far
Only just got it it’s not good quality as a branded lens but it’s not something I’ll use a lot and I just wanted a wide angle for the odd shot to fill a gap in my range of any lenses so don’t warrant spending £1500 on a lens for very light use

Focus Breathing is Brutal
I use this on my ZV-E10. It's pretty much the perfect vlogging lens for handheld, giving a roughly 24mm field of view with active stabilization. I'm not a mathematician, so when I say roughly, I mean roughly! But, if you're doing tripod shooting with autofocus on, the focus breathing makes the footage pretty much unusable. For that reason, I'm shooting with manual focus for this kind of situation.A great value lens, but bear in mind its limitations for tripod shooting with autofocus.
