Excellent book
Excellent book with cutting-edge researches. Five stars for that! But the new book came with so many marks. I didn't realize it until I highlighted the first few pages with my own notes at the beginning. Since it already has my notes so I am not planning to return it. But I am unhappy with the sellers not checking the book before they sent it to me. It should be sold as a used book, not at full price!

Limited languages
Most of the research used was Spanish English bilingualism. Should have liked a variety of languages included.

Interesting and well researched
As the father of two, young bilingual children, I have both first hand experience and a real interest in this subject. Mr Costa's book is a brilliantly researched piece which provides depth of understanding and empiricism to this area. If he reads this review, I hope that he will consider, in future editions of this book, expanding the content to include either his own research or work from elsewhere on topics such as how bilingual children develop in the context of a monolingual society i.e. social skills, comprehension of main language, other learning e.g. maths in comparison to monolingual children.

Started and couldn't finish. Small writing
I'm afraid I couldn't give a genuine star system report as I was unable to continue reading. I made 30%+ and it is absolutely fascinating, really! Sharp, and explains process and procedures without having to return and re run....The problem..The writing is so small, it's pleasurable to take in the new information but no, I couldn't handle the headache. I did try photographing a page or two and enlarging, but became a bind. Looked to see a kindle version but it's more expensive. Shame

Fascinating exploration of the latest research neuroscientific on bilingualism.
The books can be dense at times and the pacing is lacking in some sections, but this can be overlooked on account of the quality and quantity of ideas and discoveries presented.
