This product kept 3 adults bug-bite free while hiking the northern shore of Lake Superior in MN for 4.5 days in June. The area has many waterfalls within .5 to 3 miles of the main road, MN 61 Northeast. Very wooded terrain known for ticks and MOUS (mosquitoes of unusual size). We treated our outer clothing with permethrin, and used Proven Picardin on exposed areas. It went on easily, disappeared on skin and we didn’t detect any scent. Our new go-to for insect repellent. Also, I have eczema and Proven didn’t irritate/aggravate my skin.

Best repellent I’ve used. I live in South Texas and mosquitoes will carry you away over here. But not with this stuff! No smell and not sticky OFF.

This works better than any other repellant I have tried and it is very easy to use! I have been getting bites on my lower legs and tops of my feet very often when I go out for a walk and it has been driving me crazy. Now I can just put this lotion on my legs and feet in the morning and haven't had any more bites since using. Sometimes I'll put on more if I am going out in the evening but I don't know if its even necessary. Great stuff and this brand is very nice feeling lotion, not sticky like another brand I tried. Just really great overall.

I bought this product to take with us on a tropical vacation as an alternative to DEET products. Nothing like going to a restaurant and smelling like Deep Woods Off. A little skeptical so took the DEET as a back up, but this stuff works. There is a slight smell (to me) when I put it on but quickly fades. You can tell you have applied it but it's not sticky like DEET and NO SMELL. And the best part? It works. I used it in Belize and now use it at home. We have chiggers (if you do not know what those are, well, count yourself lucky. They are the itty-bitty, spawns of Satan that embed in your skin in places NOTHING should embed in (pantylines, crotch area, underboobs, anywhere that is hot and... uhm, humid) and itch 100x more than a mosquisto bite. However when I remember to put this on - NO CHIGGER bites (no mosquitos either except where I didn't apply). I have taken to putting it on my legs every morning so when I'm chasing my dog through the daisies, I'm safe. Really can't recommend it enough. Can't speak to tick repellant as that isn't a huge issue where I live. Going to try the spray next as I can then spray on clothes for when I'm thrashing through the brush and trees after my wayward mutt. I don't know about water resistance, I reapplied when I came out of the ocean. I never got bit by the sand fleas/flies that plagued my first trip to Belize however. It does wash off OK. From my research, Picaridin can be toxic to fish in large quantities and isn't good for salamanders but "seems" to be 'safer' than DEET. But I'm not a scientist so don't come at me about how wrong I may be. I'm just a dog mom and traveler that found this product to work well for my needs.

I'm allergic to mosquito (bites) and NOTHING had worked before Proven Insect Repellent Lotion. I only apply a pea size amount around my ankles and on my feet in the morning and it literally lasts all day!! Others around me will get bitten but mosquitos stay clear of me. No off putting smell and safer to use. Absorbs quickly and does not stain clothes. I'm so delighted I found this on Amazon!!!

Works wonders, keeps the coast mosquitos away with no greasy feeling for hours! Keep away from pets that my want to lick! Not pet safe!

This product is awesome. First time using a lotion for protection. I have no been bitten using this product. Love the smell. Love that it is long lasting. I will be ordering more. Nice surprise.
