Jumbo Caribbean Hammock - 55 Inch - Soft-Spun Polyester - Black

This is THE BEST hammock! EXACTLY what I was hoping for!!
I used to have a HUGE, white, loose weave, heavy duty cotton rope hammock. When it broke, I tried one made of solid fabric & HATED IT! It was taunt & stiff when you laid on it, it didn't conform to your body at all, it was almost impossible to have two people lay on it together, it flipped easily & was SO uncomfortable. Then I found a $100 rope hammock at a local store & bought it thinking it was like my old one. Though it said it was X-large, it was HALF the size & the rope was much thinner & overall cheap feeling. I had to use extra long chain for it to even fit on my big hammock stand.. which looked ridiculous, so I returned it.After that I took my time & read reviews for literally weeks on different brands & styles of hammocks & was leaning towards a Pawleys Presidential Hammock which seemed comparable to my old one. I wanted something nice quality, large enough for two people that would last! Then ironically while on vacation I happened upon an outdoor market that was selling the Caribbean Hammock brand which was a tighter weave than the old rope style hammocks so I actually got to see & feel the difference. I fell in love! They only carried the rainbow colored one so when I came home I immediately looked for them on Amazon & ordered the Jumbo Caribbean Hammock in RED & couldn't be more happy with it! It's vibrantly colored, very soft, conforms to your body & the tighter weave is even nicer than my old one that I thought I loved so much. I like that I can sit sideways on it & swing (sort of like sitting in a chair) with my feet on the ground instead of laying on it long wise all the time. The tight weave has plenty of give & molds to your body yet things don't fall through the holes. It's VERY comfortable! There's plenty of room for two (probably more) people.. though for me (I'm 4'11" 110 lbs) & when anyone else (heavier) gets in it with me I'm slightly less comfortable because they sink in & the ropes become more taunt for me. My husband & I still thoroughly enjoy laying in it together but it's most comfort alone! (much like my waterbed back in the day!)I'm so in love with it I was truly sad to see summer end.. until my teenager said "who said we can't bring it in the house for the winter?!" So we DID!! My kids think I'm the coolest mom ever because what adult would actually put this giant hammock right in their living room & not care what people think!? I thought I loved it outside on a beautiful afternoon.. but crazy or not.. inside cuddled in a blanket with my kindle & a cup of tea while it snows outside is absolute heaven! We can lay in it & snuggle & see the t.v. & it's even promoted my work-a-holic husband to take a nap here & there... This might be the first winter we don't hate!It came well packaged, in perfect condition & there was a long piece of matching red rope tied around it which I tied from the base of my stand to one end of the hammock near the spreader bar which you can pull on to keep you gently swinging. Talk about feeling pampered when it's cold outside!! Look no further, THIS is the hammock you want! Everything about it looks & feels high quality but if something does happen to this one, I will absolutely replace it with the same exact thing!!! It's exceeded my expectations & is worth every penny!

so it kind of gives you some privacy while lying in it and no elbows or anything else poking through the holes like in a looser
This is the fourth hammock I have owned, the previous three were loose weave. Let me just say, I will never go back. This is soft, tightly woven material but has just enough give, and can accommodate two people. It is densely woven enough that you really can't see through it if looking into the hammock or looking out, really have to peer over the edge to see anything out of it, so it kind of gives you some privacy while lying in it and no elbows or anything else poking through the holes like in a looser woven style so also no weird pattern on the backs of legs if you're wearing shorts. I love the color, even the wood on it looks more expensive and classier than your run of the mill hammock (photos don't do that aspect of it justice); it has a shiny varnished appearance (don't know how that will weather over time but it looks good) and is substantially heavier than other hammocks so the wood is pretty solid rather than just a narrow oak strip with holes in it. I have always enjoyed hammocks but I just want to stay in this one all the time, it's super comfortable. My husband loves it too, first time he tried it out he took a three hour nap in it. It is more expensive than others I have purchased in the past but not considerably so and very well worth it. Have only had it a short while, hope it holds up well but even if it were to wear out or fray or something, especially considering how much it's going to get used, I would still buy another one...I like it THAT much. To anyone who might be on the fence about this item or wondering if it's worth the money I say 'go for it'...I have yet to find something not to like about it. I have read other reviews from people who have used this on a stand so I would like to add that I have mine hung between two trees and can adjust the height of it. I can see how it might be a problem if you couldn't because it does have some give to it and could stretch toward the ground pretty considerably depending on a person's weight. That would be the only caveat I would or could offer up to a potential buyer. I am just really pleased with this hammock and we pretty much wear them out.

Just read this......
My parents went on vacation down to Key West a couple years back, where the met someone they described as "The Hammock Guy", who then sold them a hammock that now hangs at their home on the water in Maine. I've visited them up there several times, and---this is not an exaggeration---every time I lay on that hammock, I'm asleep within half an hour, with a dog on my lap. It's miraculous. This afternoon, I opened my very own "Hammock Guy" hammock, two days after being thrilled to find that he sells those hammocks on Amazon. As I type this on an unseasonably warm February day in Philadelphia---74 and sunny---enjoying the sun, the gentle breeze, the slow swinging, and the soft rope beneath my back, I feel yet another marvelously refreshing, lazy nap coming on. This ain't no crappy made-in-China fish-net rope-burn hammock. This is thousands of feet of tightly-woven happiness.

Beautiful and comfortable if you have the right stand
It is beautiful and big but it does stretch A LOT. For us that is a bad thing since the hammock stand is fixed and we can't make the hammock any higher so our butt hits the ground when we sit in it rendering it almost useless for us. That is why the three stars for me. The picture I've posted is with the first sitting. It has stretched even more since.
