Just what I've been looking for!! Give it good marks, but be sure to read my review.
I've been needing additional storage for my 8 1/2"x11" cardstock, but prices out there are crazy high!! This was the best deal ever! (Price was fabulous a month ago, $36.37 but I see it has risen considerably since I purchased it. Now $67.57! Crazy! Not sure I'd pay the price now.) It offered more slots then the higher priced options. Easy to put together, but one word of advice. The little dowels come pre-glued. (You place them in water to activate) Be sure you hammer them into their holes until they go no further. They will dry fairly quickly and no chance to redo. I learned the hard way. Didn't completely hammer them down, thinking I'd do that when the pieces were altogether. WRONG! They had hardened into place and resulted in some bulging through when I hammered the sides together. Fortunately, that was the first edges, so I corrected myself on the other three as I did them.

Perfect for my needs. Read instructions a must!
After reading the reviews of other people, I decided to take a chance on this paper organizer. Glue Pegs: Just dip the peg in water, for a second or two, shake off excess water and pound in place using a rubber mallet. I wet each peg as I needed one vs. soaking the entire batch. The blue stain does come off on your hands, but washed away easily for me. Damaged side walls: If you hammer directly onto the side wall (your bottom pegs are in place, and you’re hammering down your side wall to lock the perpendicular panel in place) you will split the veneer. Place a larger object (I had a ream of paper nearby), perpendicular to the surface you need to hammer and this should protect your walls from any damage happening. Organize your shelves first: Took another poster’s advice and removed a shelf divider to allow for an unopened ream of paper to sit on the bottom-most position. The individual shelf separators higher up will bend slightly if you put something heavy on them. I don’t think they’d be in danger of breaking, but if wavy lines bother your visual aesthetic, I’d consider placing the heaviest object on the bottom. The backing - I chose to skip it. For my needs, I was placing this organizer against the back wall of a larger bookcase shelf so I didn’t need to install the back piece. This allows me the option to customize the space in between each divider as it suits me. The unit does wobble very slightly, but in my case, this unit is tucked away in a location that adults have access to. I’m not under the impression that the entire unit will slide sideways and break without the backing, the unit is sturdy enough. Color - light gray I really wish they had a white option as my unit is white, however, in dim lighting the light gray is light enough where it doesn’t bother me.

Solid and heavy. Chips easily.
Not the quality I was expecting. Solid and works fine. Easily chips...

I'm torn between 4 and 5 stars. It's a good product.
I went with 5 cause I didn't see anything else out there that is as good. I like the small size and the sturdy frame. I wouldn't put anything too heavy on top of it, but the frame is solid wood and this looks nice and it can support something on top. I bought one of the larger cardboard sorters and next to this one, it's an eyesore. This one is cool looking on a small table in the corner of my room. Cons: The shelves don't have much space in between (about 1 inch - though that should be obvious from the photo), if you pick it up a lot, which I like to do cause I like to move it around, the top tends to loosen a little bit (unless you pick it up from the sides, but it feels so natural to just grab the top). You can fix this buy using some glue to hold it together, but then you can't take it apart, but that's a small issue. 44 bucks, the sale price seems a touch high looking at the materials but overall, it's a good product and it's study and handsome looking and it's better than anything else out there that I found. I recently bought a 2nd one.

Subpar product and company
I followed all of the directions, even the weird one about wetting the dowels first, but this still broke when assembling because it’s such a cheap product. I’m assuming the dowels weren’t in far enough, but it’s hard to tell, because they’re too big for the holes and seem like that’s as far as they go. With other products, when you hammer the top on, it will naturally push the dowels in the lower piece into the proper position, but this is so cheaply made, that there’s not much material there and the dowels burst through and wreck the top. I emailed customer support, as Amazon refers you to do, but they never got back to me. I thought if they worked with me, I might find it worthwhile to rig it up and use my nail gun with some other wood. Right before returning it, I decided to call the number just in case. They answered, but the woman was borderline rude, asked where I bought it and said I had to deal with Amazon. She said it’s their product, but Amazon is the one who billed me, so I have to call them. I have never heard of that, and the few issues I’ve had, manufacturers are good about communication. My takeaway, Safeco doesn’t care about junk they peddle as a product or their customer service. Safe to say, I will never order from Safeco again.

Any cheaper and it wouldn't work
It's difficult to imagine they could cut any more corners and still have a functional product. It is nevertheless functional, and it's the narrowest organizer I could find to efficiently store various label stocks and bits of fancy papers next to a printer. Bad: The back is just a piece of cardboard, "fiberboard" they call it, that is maybe twice as thick as what you'd find shipped inside a dress shirt. It is just raw unbleached fiber, not covered with the plastic "veneer" that the rest is, so make sure you can put the unit against a wall, not anywhere the back will be visible. If the back were more substantial, it might have been able to help hold the sides in... each side bowed out about 2mm (1/8") at the center. But with the back being just thin cardboard, I figured the stress would tear the nail holes, so I just nailed it in as it came. The shelves are unfinished particle board, only about 3/32" thick. They talk about leaving some of the shelves out to store larger items, but I wouldn't trust them to be able to support even a ream of paper over time. Maybe leave the bottom shelf out if you really need to store something large/heavy in this; it could rest on the bottom piece. You won't easily be able to flip them over (have to remove the back or cut the veneer on the front edge), so don't plan on doing that to straighten them if they bend. The slots in the sides that support the shelves were go completely through the front and back edges. On the back the shelves are held in place by that piece of cardboard and a few loose nails. On the front, it's just the laminate veneer, less than half a millimeter (< 1/32") of plastic glued on to the front edge of the sides. Just make sure not to tug or push on the shelves. Meh: The "pre-glued" dowels are a good idea; easier to dip them in water than ship a tube of glue. But wear a glove: they coat them with some sort of green dye (hopefully food-grade) that came off on my fingers. Hammer needed for assembly: sinking the dowels in pre-drilled holes and pushing nails through the fiberboard back and into the chipboard. Not a problem; everyone should have a hammer, right? Not a lot of force needed; could improvise with some other reasonably solid object in a pinch. Good: They use four dowel pins on the top and bottom of each side (16 total). Considering the overall low quality, I might have expected just two or three. Having four really makes it much more rigid than might have been. The frame did go together pretty much square; I did not have to rack or twist it to get the back to line up pretty well.. The package seemed to survive its trip from Taiwan pretty well.

I find this product does exactly what it was meant to do
Had I read the reviews on this product prior to purchasing it I probably wouldn't have purchased...BUT I am so happy I did not. I find the poor reviews on this paper holder to mostly be user assembly error. If you have never put together a particle board piece of furniture then you might run into the problems that others complain about. When you put it together, you need to make sure you are very careful with the dowels and the small nails that go into the back. If you are too close to the edge when you pound in the nails you will get a bubble on the side of the particle board where the nail is pushing out. I found assembly of this product extremely easy and I did not have any problems with the nails protruding after assembly. I love this paper holder and am so happy I purchased 2 for my use and if I needed another one I would purchase again. It does exactly what it was meant to do. Each sections holds about an inch and a half of paper and it looks nice with its laminate siding. I purchased the grey version.

Love These
I've used these for at least 3yrs now. They're great and strong. I bought 3 units and accidentally ruined one by hammering one of the little dowels too far and it split the wood on the other side. My own fault. The other 2 are great. I love all 3. I love being able to take out some shelves if I need one slot to be thicker / wider.

Bon produit

Not value for money
We bought this for the home office for filing of pending paperwork etc but the shelves are made of cupboard and the sides and top are made from chipboard. I was expecting a solid piece of wood or equipement. This is cheap materials How this can have a value of £55 is beyond me as it is not worth the month at all. I will be sending back as its not of the quality we were expecting.
