Setting up a travel trailer generally means doing it in the dark during the winter as it gets dark so early. Using a flashlight works, but it provides its own issues as you try to hold the light and connect power, water, etc. So, I really wanted to get a light weight, easy to use headlamp to leave my hands free. That is why I ordered this product. Here is what I found when I received it. 1. The unit comes with no batteries (noted in ad for device) and no instructions on how to switch from white light to red light. There is a picture on the box that shows you what options are available in each, but nothing that tells you how to switch between them. To answer that question, turn on the light and then hold down the switch button. The light will then switch from whatever color it was in to the other color. To switch back, do the same process again. Have the light on and then hold the button down until it switches. You will find you need to play with the switch a bit to figure out how to change to each setting. 2. The white light is very bright but the red light is not so much. The red is intended to preserve your night vision so it is strange that one of the features of the red light is an SOS function!!! That function is NOT available in the white light which can be seen much further away than the red light can. 3. The head band is easily adjustable and holds the light securely. The three AAA batteries required for this do not weigh much so they are not a problem. Figure on a good 3 hours of light before you need to replace the batteries. This is ok, but not great and I am sure it is a function of the small batteries!! 4. The light is adjustable for up and down with detents to keep it at the setting you want. Easy to adjust with one hand while wearing the unit. This is a perfect light for my needs as they are short term use and not all that frequent. Since two lights are provided in the package, I labeled then with a color band. I use one until the light gets dim and then switch to the other unit after pulling out the batteries so I do not forget. These would certainly be good for short walks at night, just not for long ones unless you bring spare batteries (3 ea AAA). I would recommend this product. I initially purchased these for my toddlers because if they loose or break them it isn’t a huge loss because of how inexpensive these are. After receiving these and realizing that they are the same quality and of similar brightness to my Fenix head lamps I decided to make the switch too. Since my initial purchase of one 4 pack I have purchased another 4 pack because I ended up using the kids and putting spares in my tackle box, tool box, and truck. With the second 4 pack the kids each got one (I know you were all concerned they wouldn’t get their’s), my father-in-law got one for his evening walks, and we now have a spare in the garage in case of power outages. These have three brightness settings that do have a visible difference in brightness as well as a strobing feature and a red light feature. These features are nice because you illumination ranges from close to about 20ft ahead of you. The build quality is top notch and after about a year of fairly regular use the head bands have not lost any of their elasticity. Additionally I have yet to change the batteries on any of the head lamps and all are still as bright as the day they arrived. Fantastic product at a very reasonable price. If you are looking for head lamps (which I assume you are since you are reading reviews of head lamps) end your search here; you won’t be disappointed.

I got two of these for 14.97, hard to beat the price. I had formerly used Harbor Freight headlamps, at 9.99 per each. The Vonts compare very well, throwing almost as bright a light with more setting options and also the red light option. Battery life seems comparable and the Vonts use smaller AAA batteries. The HF had low-high-strobe settings and the beam width was adjustable, the Vonts have low-medium-high plus red and red SOS models. The HF headlamp is substantially bigger and heavier but the adjustable beam width is very handy and it does have greater range of adjustment in the angle of the lamp. The Vonts beam is not adjustable and the lamp angles down only about 45 degrees. A bit more would be preferable for close up work (like tying fishing knots while night fishing). The Vonts do have the red light options that protect night vision. The red lamps don't throw much light but are enough to navigate and do close up work and when you switch them off you're not blind in the dark while your eyes adjust. I can't figure out why they put the SOS mode on the red light, it can't be seen very far away. I switched from the HF headlamps because of their lack of durability. They didn't stand up well to rough use, breaking if banged around or dropped or after several months of use they would just fail. Can't compare the Vonts on that basis because I haven't had them very long. If I think of it I will post later after a few months of use but so far these are working out well for me and I recommend them, especially at the price.

I am very satisfied with this light in every sense. It is extremely bright and comfortable to wear for long periods. The fabric is nice and soft but still very stretchy and stays tight once adjusted to fit your head. It also pivots at the bottom so you can point the light slightly toward the ground without actually having to look at the ground yourself. The one button on the device is a very intuitive design and surprisingly easy to use. Press it once and the exceptionally bright white LED turns on at the dimmest setting, press it again and it gets slightly brighter, and one more time makes it the brightest possible (which is BRIGHT). Press the button again and it stays at the brightest setting but starts a strobe and blinks rapidly. If you hold down the button for about 2-4 seconds it will switch over to the red LEDs at its only brightness setting. Press it again while on red and it will begin to blink morse code for SOS. Press it one last time and it will begin the strobe effect and blink rapidly. The battery life is excellent (although I'm not sure exactly how long they will last because I haven't had to change them yet). It has not gotten any dimmer with use over time though. I would highly recommend this brand and product. It is well-made and an excellent value for the money at this price for a 2-pack. Can't go wrong with this one folks.

I was expecting a much more cheaply made light for the price - its very nicely made. The headband is wider, and therefore more solid, then some other cheap headlamps I've used, and the adjustment method goes out wide enough to fit a helmet. The light itself can be detached from the headband, and reattached to any 1" or smaller strap (like MOLLE). The battery compartment does not require tools or gorilla hands to open, although its not waterproofed. Its very bright, with plenty of settings to choose from, and I particularly like that it starts on low - some headlamps start high, and work down to low, which seems counter intuitive to me. This one does it just right. Also I really like that the long press switches it from white to red ... and leaves it in that mode. So if you want to keep it in red, you can without having to work through white to get to red, or even remember to long press every time. I gave it 4 stars in battery life only because I've not had it long enough to comment. I'm also using dollar tree batteries on purpose, which are known to have very short lives. And I'm testing it against a much more expensive headlamp in which I put the same cheap batteries. I'll update the review later. I've wasted money before, but I don't feel like I did this time!

I picked these up because I needed more light when I worked on things close up. The three settings of white light work great for me. Those are the most important settings for me. I build some things that have small parts and have great light in my workshop but sometimes just want to work at the dining room table or in the living room and the lighting is not good for doing this but with these lights I will be able to see correctly to work there. They are easy to turn on and adjust from one brightness level to another. The lights adjust low, medium, high and strobe so if you want to go from medium to low you have to go through the other two to get there but that only takes a second and the more you use them the easier it is. They do have a tip feature that you can use to position the light some what but I have not really needed that feature. Having two means I always have one handy and that helps me out a lot. I have no need for them outside but if they allow hands free lighting for my use I see no reason they wouldn't work for uses outside. The red lights are a nice addition and are very bright. I would recommend and buy these again.

I ordered these headlamps for camping and they did not disappoint. I had previously owned a thirty dollar petzl headlamp so I didn't know how these would compare. The Vont headlamp is very similiar just less sleek looking. The nature of headlamps is not style its functionality so it didn't really matter to me. The lamp itself is powerful and bright for The battery life is good. The light has yet to go out on me but I alway carry extra batteries just in case. It doesn't come with instructions so it took me a while to get the nightlight on but it is good that the lamps have this feature. It said waterproof when I bought it and I tested it by running my faucet over it. nothing got in except a few drops when I had the faucet on high for over ten seconds. After taking apart the headlamp and checking the other parts I can safely say this headlamp has a durable build and can be worn in the rain. You just wouldn't want to submerge it for long periods of time. I give it five stars because it is the best bang for your buck with headlamps.

I have over my lifetime been a member of ERT (Emergency Response Teams), CERT (Community Response Teams), Ham Radio Emergency Communications Teams, and spent a lot of time teaching Survival Skill to these teams as well as other groups. lighting is very important. especially hands-free lighting. This little headlamp fits the bill very well. It is very inexpensive because gear gets lost and broken regularly. I have carried extra gear to deal with this. It weighs very little. The batteries are replaceable, I have headlamps that are rechargeable which can be a problem during deployment. I carry extra batteries in my kit and in my pocket, and they are available at our Command Center on-site. No waiting for an hour or two to recharge just swap the batteries and continue. I also like the Red LEDs to preserve my night vision when working radios for the comms team. Buy extras to keep in each vehicle for use during vehicle break down and recovery. Overall I recommend these to the people I used to work with. Very small and lightweight, quick to change the batteries, multiple brightness and red light for night vision. Great product.

Brought this for astronomy love the fact that it saves light colour. So I don't lose night vision with white light

Great , especially for the price

This headlamp (and there are two!) are easily as good as or better than any headlamp I have purchased at MEC or wherever over the years. They are lighter, brighter and cheaper. I've been running them for a year and abusing them, and they just keep on lighting up the night. It's nice to sometimes find a cheap-o product that is better than all the fancy overpriced crap.

I need a new head torch for work. This product had good reviews. It is light weight, easy to use and good angle adjustment. Great value as you get two lights.
