Works well and is easy to install. It is nice that it fits either 3 or 4 inch drain lines.

The winter of 2021 was painful - as it caused my finished basement to flood! I ended up digging a 60 foot long French drain along the side of my house - 24 inches deep and put in drain pipe, crushed stone, and geotextile fabric to wrap the French drain in. I terminated the drain with this pop up emitter - which you can see in the video (the second drain shown) this things works and allows a TON of water to be extricated from the drain - when it is not raining - I can run the lawn mover right over the top of this as it sits nice and flush with the soil level - and the grass around it does not interfere with its function at all!

1) This product provides great value for your money. It helps so much with yard drainage and costs very little. 2) It's so durable. I've been monitoring it for about 3.5 years now, and it has withstood all the sun, heat, and thunderstorms nature has thrown at it. Also, it has never caught the blade of my lawn mower, which has probably passed over it around 100 times now. 3) The rounded interior contours, internal ribs, and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) construction contribute to the overall strength of the product. 4) It's so simple to install if you've done your measurements in advance. 5) Cleaning the product is easy, although I've almost never had to over the years. But it's just as effortless to remove this product from the pipe as you might expect for something that stays embedded in your lawn all year long. 6) The emitter pops up just like it's supposed to during heavy storms that cause copious drainage. When installed properly, this product performs extremely well.

So far, so good... seems to do what it's supposed to do, and, after getting the correct adapter, was easy to install. Solid construction, seems like it will be durable, and I installed it in an area that won't be mowed, so I don't have to worry about a lawn mower chopping it up. :) One important question to resolve, though. There seems to be some confusion about exactly what type and size of pipe this will fit. Not all PVC pipe is the same -- when a pipe is advertised as a 3 inch or 4 inch pipe, the stated dimension is usually referring to the inside diameter of the pipe (i.e., the hole), not the outside diameter. Different grades of pipe have different wall thickness, so the outside pipe diameter changes depending on the grade or "schedule" of pipe you have. For this item, this is important because it is designed to either fit inside a hub fitting, or slip over the outside of a pipe. To resolve this, I contacted the manufacturer and this is exactly what they told me: "The NDS Pop-up Emitter fits on sewer and drain pipe and not schedule 40 pipe. NDS part #3P16 is an adapter that will convert schedule 40 to sewer and drain. Place the adapter on top of the pipe and then place the Emitter on the adapter." The "sewer and drain" pipe referred to is a lighter pipe with thinner walls than Schedule 40 pipe. This pop-up emitter will not work with schedule 40 pipe and fittings. However, it's easy enough (and not expensive) to get an adapter. Doing so worked for me.

I recently installed the Pop-Up Drainage Emitter as part of my yard's drainage system, and I couldn't be happier with the results. It’s incredibly easy to install and fits perfectly with standard 4-inch drain pipes. The pop-up top works just as advertised—only opens when there’s water flow, keeping debris and critters out when not in use. What I really appreciate is the low-profile design. It blends in nicely with the lawn and doesn’t get in the way of mowing or foot traffic. Even after several heavy rainstorms, the emitter has performed flawlessly, preventing any pooling or flooding in problem areas. So easy to install and works fantastic. Just make sure you use perforated pipe or drill hole in elbow going up to prevent freezing in winter.

Fit perfectly, good quality replacement item.

In my opinion these are a bit expensive for what they are, but they work well and are easy to install (bit of PVC cement and slide onto your pipe). I did a drain with one of these using 4" perforated PVC drain pipe, and it works perfectly for my sump pump drain. If installed flush to the ground, it allows you to have a mostly-hidden drain that's easy to mow over top of. Dropping 1 star because of the price, but they are definitely a 5 for functionality.

Received promptly and in good condition. Easy to install and functions well. Used to divert eaves rainwater to a garden bed affixed to the end of a buried drain pipe. Recommended.
