Mercer Culinary Millennia Colors 3-Inch Slim Paring Knife, Green

This is my third Mercer Culinary knife in this series. My Mercer knives are comfortable to use, sharp, and highly rated by culinary pros. This model comes in different handle colors if you want to color-code for meat, fish, vegetables, etc.--or just want to easily find your knife among a drawer of others. It feels good in hand and I use this paring knife daily.

Knife is very sharp..

I love this knife. The price was good and it arrived in less than a week. Perfect for cutting small fruits and veggies for my guinea pigs. It is very sharp and the handle is comfortable. Used nearly daily and still one of my sharpest knives after 3 months. When I cut grapes or tomatoes sometimes the skin doesn’t cut through with other knives BUT this knife cuts through the skin always. I would love to have another one.

This is a basic paring knife that is priced well for its quality. If you’re in need of a few affordable and decent paring knives in the kitchen, this is it. Update: After putting it through daily usage for over a month, I haven’t seen signs of rust or major blade issues.

I have purchased a few Mercer knives, including a Chef’s knife for my wife and she loves it. This paring knife is also very good. You get excellent quality and the price is very reasonable.

Is a perfect paring knife

It’s a light weight paring knife for those who wanted that information. As a follow up to my initial thoughts: I’ve had this since November and it has a couple of rust spots on the blade that won’t wipe off. It’s not very sharp either. I have three relatively cheap paring knives I’ve owed since the 1980’s that perform better than this one. I would not purchase it again.

I've purchased several different brands of knives over the years, including Victorinox and older Chicago Cutlery. I have purchased the 8" chef, 3" paring, and 10" bread knives from this Mercer Culinary range. These are great kitchen knives for home use. This is the basic product line from Mercer: sharp knives with durable edges designed for basic professional use. Not high-end knives, but well-balanced designs and good steel, taking a decent edge and holding it longer than other knives in this price range. If you go up in price, you can get steel that will hold a sharper edge longer, but those knives will be marginally better. These are good enough to slice quickly and slice tender foods without damaging them. With regular sharpening they will do everything you need for years.

The top of the handle is flat with the result that the knife often comes to rest on the flat part of the handle resulting in the sharp edge of the knife pointing vertically up. I'm currentlyooking for paring knifes with a slight curve to the handle that won't inadvertently have the sharp edge pointing up when at rest...

My Wife prefers to use a small knife, and I've tried to replace the old favourite one, with little success, She ruined the last one, cutting lemons to clean the Microwave. ??? Tried this, and it falls to hand so comfortably. Just a tad larger than the old favourite, (handle size.) but pretty sure it will become the new favourite. Happy to recommend it.

Very sharp and easy to handle bright green colour makes it clearer in the knife drawer. Good value.

There's not much else to say about the product. It works as intended, and is a nice shade of green too.

Cheap sharp knife for what I paid can't complain.
