So many bright colors
This is great for beginners! It is full of different colors & comes with some tools you need to get started. The yarn is decent quality. It's just basic acrylic yarn. Everything fits nicely in the case & is a decent size so storage isn't to bad. The yarn comes in small amounts so if your wanting to do a big project you would have to order more. But this is great for small things.

Great colors, great fun.
This is a perfect set of yarn for someone who is learning how to crochet and even an expert crocheter. Making granny squares and changing colors is great practice for a newbie. Every color imaginable which makes it fun while using your imagination to make every color you choose count! I would recommend this item for purchase.

Amazing Variety Of Colors / Good Quality / A Couple Drawbacks / Not For Novices
I adore this set of yarn; the variety of colors is amazing, and the yarns are soft and strong, with a very subtle sheen that isn't as bright as Caron Simply Soft, but not so dull that it appears fuzzy or rough. I appreciate that some of the colors come in hues which are part of a gradient (example in picture), which is very difficult to find when looking for acrylic yarns. As for negatives, the yarns are all thinner than advertised: I would say they're more accurately between 2 and 3 on the weight scale. I can still use them, but I was hoping they'd be a tiny bit thicker. The tote the set comes in is disappointing, but not a huge deal (unless you were relying on it to store these skeins): it opens by zipper around the middle of the bag... it's not terrible, but there's no way you could reasonably store all the skeins of yarn and tools in there and be able to access the ones you need without risking tangling the yarn, or worse, things falling out and being lost. The hooks are standard aluminum hooks with no grip. Not terrible, but I have better ones. They are also way too large for the yarn... I already put them away, but I believe one was 4 mm and the other was 5.5 mm. I typically use a 3.5 mm hook or smaller, and it was a bit larger than it needed to be for these yarns. The large-eyed yarn needles are also unsuitable for this yarn. I do like the stitch markers included, though: they're very useful. Overall, I love the set and colors, but I wouldn't say it's for beginners. The skeins are too small and the yarn is too thin to really be able to practice with, and it's not cost effective at all. It would be better suited for an experienced crochet artist who is looking for a large variety of colors to use in amigurumi work.

Good Variety, Great Price
Starting with the great: the color assortment can't be beat. I'm working on a bunch of mini birds that require a number of gradients, and this worked out perfectly to see what I'll eventually need more of. With all the worries of size, I was pleasantly surprised. For the price and varieties offered, they're perfect. It's a beginner set after all. When you squish them, they hold their own (so no air inflating their size). The blue jay I just finished I could easily make five or six more of, at least. For context, it fits in the palm of my hand, about two inches tall and wide. (That's just using the three blues, let alone all the other colors.) The stitch markers are plentiful and I've been using them a lot. They're not so rigid that you can't easily open them, but not so loose that they risk falling out as you crochet. The two provided hooks are the same exact ones I bought when I first started, and I haven't had a single issue with them. The one thing that drops this down a star is the quality variety between skeins. The first skein I worked with I was unraveling and re-crocheting a whole bunch with and it stayed perfectly in tact. I was ecstatic! On my blue jay, one of the skeins started to fray quite a bit. I ended up having to cut about three inches of yarn off because it was unusable. (It was fluffed up, not just unraveled.) The gold I used for the bismark whistler, though, was a champ. Perfect! It's something to keep in mind, but hasn't ruined any of the projects I've worked on. To end on a more positive note: the yarn is fairly soft for an acrylic and my final projects have held up very well. It's a bulk buy at a very good price, with lot's of variety. The supplies included are great to start, and I'll be using those stitch markers for years to come. (As long as I don't lose them!) A little fray here and there is more than worth it to me.

Good option for beginners and small projects
I bought it to use for my projects, need to be careful while using it. Colors are vibrant, I wish they could have more length but it’s worth for small projects, it comes in a bag so you can bring with you in case you do it outdoors. I used them on my sentro machine, it works fine but it’s acrylic not wool.

Okay if you stick with the patterns that come with it
The bag is cute and there are lots of yarn colors but you really have to stick with their patterns in order to enjoy this set.

Coiorful yarn, great variety
I loved the yarn after I got used with it and found the right size hook. It is tedious at times because it splits and some of the balls have knots, but overall I was able to crochet some cool things with so many beautiful colors. Yes, the balls are small - but a decent size is you're doing amigurumi or granny squares, and supplement for the main color with yarn from the store. The needles broke fast and I did not care for the hook that comes with the kit, but I am still using the markers. Not sure if I'd recommend this for complete beginners...It's thick enough to make it easy, but it's splitting at times and it's slippery. I think there is a learning curve with any yarn and tools.
