Filled both compartments with hot water. After 4 hours the water in the bottom unit was still pretty hot, the water in the smaller upper unit was just warm.

Pros: cute, spacious, modularCons: not well-insulated (hot food is cold by lunchtime), awkward for little hands to open and close.Edit: changed from 3/5 to 4/5 because the company wanted to make sure I would be satisfied with my purchase, they sent me an insulated carrying case. We haven't used it yet, but they deserve kudos for being so responsive to my feedback! :)

I only used it once, put my lunch in the sections, and the top container got stuck and wouldn’t reopen.

It's still pretty cold here in CA and the kids love to take soup for lunch. This however doesn't keep the food hot like the other insulated cup we have purchased. I bought this so that the kids didn't have to carry too much stuff for lunch. They can have their soup, salad, spaghetti and a little sweat treat inside the lid. I gave it a three because it doesn't keep the food hot/warm and it's not very straining for the kids (15, 12, and 7 years old) to open. Even I have some issues with the top compartment underneath the lid.It's a great concept and I really love that it's an all in one thing. I just wish i was well insulated. :(

I’m super frustrated because I LOVED the style and bought 3 for my family. Coconut milk got under the seal and now I don’t know if it’ll ever come out and it’s too late to return. Also, it does not keep food cold or warm without the insulating thing, which I didn’t get. Frustrated. If only I would’ve known about the seal situation.

I bought this less than 3 months ago, have only hand washed it and it took on water between the plastic outside shell and the stainless steel inside. You can hear the water shaking around in it. I'm so mad what a waste of money!

It is pretty. But it doesn't keep warm. As soon as I poured hot water in side, I noticed that, cause the outside can totally feel the warmth, so fast. Then I know I can't keep it. too bad. Now I can only trust Thermos for the hot keeping ability. Really want to change the style of my daughter's lunch thermo box, but it seems hard... Anyway, the design is pretty, but it is a little too bulky, I guess it will be hard to open and close the jar for kids.

Love this! My only complaint is that the handle lid part is hallow so what I was hoping to do with the very top little tray - put my ranch for dipping - wont work; it would just spill into the handle if the bento box isnt standing upright. But otherwise its cool. :)
