Excellence.
Sharp, tight, Well balanced. Weight isnt an issue it swings and sings. Feels lighter than it is. Very easy to maneuver. The bag that comes with it is even nicer material than most. Im no expert but Ive had almost a dozen different swords with different metals and makers come through in the last month. If I had to pick only 1 it'd be a great candidate. The maker of this one put good attention to detail in fit and finish. Beautiful job. Flawless workmanship. At this price its an excellent buy.

Very good value....more than you think. Buy it.
I was in the market for a Katana in the range of $400-700. But I saw this sword in a Youtube video of ancients weapons going up against modern armor and was impressed by this blade. Even though it was below my budget and thought it wouldn't be what I truly wanted (a moderate end blade), I got it anyway. And....wow. This was way more than expected. I truly FELT the weight, balance, and sharpness. This is not a "cheap blade". It's for real. Not a toy or a katana to be disrespected. I firmly believe that if you want to start a katana collection, start here.

She is Sharp
This is my first sword that I have bought. When I first got it, I didnt think it was that sharp. Fast Forward two weeks later I have 10 stiches in my fingers. The sword is very sharp and very balanced. Love the look. 10/10 recommend.

Very Nice Sword for the price
Purchasing a Japanese sword, a bonfide, produced under historical standards, is very expensive... The whole knife nerd movement become somewhat laughable when considering Japanese sword production, which has been around a long time. And despite what many think, if I grab the steel backsprings off my F-150 the steel is probably technically more pure, better quality than what was available to even the Great swordsmiths in ancient Japan. Which is to say, it's always been about the process, not only the blade but the fittings, all of whom were produced by different specialists in ancient Japan, the different temperatures needed to make the blade softer where it needs to cut and harder where it needs resistance, Etc. This sword, and many well produced swords produced en masse, with Finishing Touches, will never be a true katana. However, not only is this a functional weapon, as much as a sword can be considered such these days, but there are also nice flourishes that show good quality. For example the Scabbard is well manufactured, with the collar grabbing the blade a little tight, but still fitted. The blade is sharp, and the weight of the weapon is sound. The fittings are a bit cheap looking, with the sword guard, being an exception to this rule. If sword manufacturers would realize Beauty in simplicity, you could make a wonderful sword without all the Embellishments that detract from this innate simplicity of design . This is an excellent sword for the price. Understand that it is a real sword with some real sharpness and it is not a practice weapon.

I like it
Beautiful sword. Very solid and with a nice, understated Damascus pattern on the blade. Lovely wood scabbard as well. Very happy with this.

Good blade, possible QC lapse?
This was my first go round with buying a katana on Amazon while Amazon did amazing this thing had several issues, mainly the etching on the Damascus was very uneven and splotchy and the grinds toward the tip seem to have been done after the etching was done , that aside the grip and weight are spot on the balance is very nice, I will be however, returning this model and going with just a standard T 10 blade steel

Couple of issues
My example came with a couple of issues. First was that the katana was literally jamed into the scabbard which took a great deal of effort to remove. After removing the sword, it was cleaned of the shipping grease and was slid back into the scabbard. But it did not fully seat as the inside of the scabbard was too narrow which explains why I had a heck of a time getting the blade out the first time. Out came the wood files and after reworking and ⁸test fitting the inside I managed to get the sword to seat properly. The second is the hilt was put on upside down. Other than these issues, the sword looks and feels great. Hopefully it is a true T10 blade as no certs was sent with it. I am looking forward to doing cutting exercise.
