Myths of the Norsemen (Puffin Classics) Review: Classic of Norse mythology - Still the most enjoyable book of Norse mythology, even if it isn't 100% authentic. Who cares anyway, they're just stories, and I'm not trying to write a scholarly paper on the meaning of Thor's hammer. Arrived fast, great condition, I need to get a few more copies for nephews and nieces who always seem to get interested in mythology. Review: Great book. Loved it immensely - Great book. Loved it immensely. Learned so much . . . about how Odin came to only have one eye, how Thor got his hammer, Miolnir, how Loki came to be a part of the Aesir, etc. Fabulous stories told well.

Very good read.
It gives you a very interesting glimpse into Norse Mythology by providing a story, instead of several different accounts with different gods. This travels in a single line from the birth of the Tree of Life to the Ragnarok.

A must for Viking Enthusiasts!
Bought this for my little one's library we are building for him. Mythology is so interesting and really gives us a glimpse into the lives of our ancestors. This book has many myths and they are not watered down. Very nice edition for the money.

Awesome!
My son loves everything about this book. The stories have been adapted nicely by Mr. Green, and are retold in a way that a youthful audience can understand without sacrificing the plot and characters!

A good read by one of the younger Inkling writers
A good read by one of the younger Inkling writers. Reading this book gives good insight into Tolkien's influences in the Lord of the Rings.

One of my favourite books as a child, the writing is excellent and perfect for reading aloud. The Norsemen Myths themselves are fabulous stories and it really is not surprising that they have been mined so effectively by other writers, Marvel Comic's and of course Hollywood. This collection stands the test of time and is suitable both for young readers and adults who want to have a good solid introduction to the Norse Myths.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was a bit more succinct than Gaiman’s Norse mythology.
