Outlast - Q8 Log Oil Wood Preservative for Decks, Log Homes, End Cuts, & More - Natural - 5 Gallon

I have about 70 feet of 12 foot decking with 4x4 posts, metal grills with aluminum frames. I started out with an electric sprayer from Ryobi. That was a nightmare Don't buy their $59 battery powered sprayer. Ended up with a good spray bottle, a 4 inch brush and a rag to wipe the metal frames after evening out the Outlast coat. That was the cleanest and fastest method to do the deck railing. Spray, brush it in and wipe excess. On the deck floor I started out with a roller which was too messy and ended up using a 1 gallon pump sprayer with the roller to even it out. 50 feet only took a half an hour or so. This deck was made from standard pressure treated wood so I pressure sprayed all of it and sanded ( about 10% of it) first. Some of the decking didn't accept all of the oil I applied so the next day I went over it with an Outlast soaked rag and evened it out. It looks amazing. Even with the standard , weathered PT 2x4s. No odor.The container says soap and water cleanup but you really need an oil thinner to clean it up, Mineral spirits, paint thinner , etc.All in all, it made my massive deck look great. We'll see how long it lasts in a cold, wet northern environment.

This product is easy to use, applies and absorbs in the wood quickly. Its water repellent ability is quite evident and has been so for over 4 months on an exposed boat dock deck. I have used it on the wood railing with complete satisfaction. I have purchased a second 5gal bucket.Following up: I just order my 3rd 5 gal container of this product. I am replacing my deck with quality wooden deck boards and pre-treating them with Outlast since they were kiln dried. It continues to impress me on it quality and effectiveness. The small catwalk that I treat back in Sept 2020 and is exposed to the elements is still repelling rain water. Best I have ever used.

Easy to apply and great natural color. 6 months later rain beads right off. Applied after 8 years to a Timber Haven log home.

Easy to apply with pump sprayer. It has citronella in it to repel bugs. Great value for the price.

Works. Easy to spray, does the job. Comes in a solid container, no worries.Need to use a low pressure sprayer.This is oil based, you dont mix it with anything. I live in a very harsh climate/environment and this stuff works

Deck, works great had to order another 5 gallon one was not enough

Great stuff, Recommended by most treated wood manufacturers to keep the warranty on their product after sawing or cutting the wood.. It soaks in real nice and easy to put on wood. I use a brush.
