Works as well as competitor's and far more affordable
I tried this in place of a competitor's that has become too over priced. This work exactly the same, the fragrance is pleasant and lighter. Great detangler!

Vetrolin detangler is an excellent product
After washing mane and tail, I use surgical gloves to apply Vetrolin, so that it doesn’t stick to my hands. I apply one coat of Vetrolin to wet hair, let dry and apply again. I reapply and let hair fully soak it in as many times as needed until the mane and tail stops looking dry or brittle on the ends. Only after that process, I run a large tooth comb through the mane and tail, starting at the bottom and working upward. Sometimes I spread the process out over two days to get better absorption. The detangling effect lasts for several months on pasture horses, saving an immense amount of time in daily mane and tail detangling. Rain doesn’t seem to affect the performance. Even the occasional dried Bermuda stems and roots do not entangle in my horse’s thick tails when I use Vetrolin in this way. Several years experience using it this way. Never failed as yet. If you shampoo often, you’ll have to reapply after shampooing. Vetrolin, Please don’t ever change this formula. It works great!

If this doesn't grow a tail, nothing will
I'm not sure what people don't like about silicone-based detanglers for horses, but I guess I'll just have to be part of the divergent group. I love this. It is more economical than other silicone products and works perfectly with a pleasant menthol scent. My warm blood has enough tail for three horses, and the hair is coarse and black. I can comb her tail every other day with water-based products and have to spend 10 minutes on it each time working out the brambles and tangles, and the ends always become thin and brown out. With Vetrolin, I can do it once a week, which is what's recommended, and it's like handling thick, lustrous silk. I actually love touching it, it's so soft and pliant, and the tail stays black and thins less at the tip. The last bottle I had, her tail was actually on the ground until I decided to "use up" a sample of something else I'd been given. Never again. The rest of you can keep your samples. My time is worth more. I received no compensation for this review.

The BEST mane & tail detangler I’ve ever used.
I’ve tried pretty much every horse detangler on the market, and this is by far the best. The bottle lasts a very long time because you only need a dime size amount or an entire tail/ or a long mane. It absorbs well into the hair and makes brushing through it so much easier. Also if you massage this stuff into burdocks, they literally fall out and don’t stick to anything anymore. It has the classic vetrolin scent, which I love. Just a great product that every horse owner should have.
