Love Travelpro
I bought this item in 2023 and have used it approx 9 times, often with more than 50 pounds in it. On my most recent trip (weighing abt 54 lbs) it arrived with damage to the backside (see pic). We taped it up with Gorilla tape so I could get it home. On the trip home it had about 40 pounds in it and arrived without incident. I filed a claim with Travelpro and wasn't sure it would work because the claim site only discussed damage to zippers, handles and wheels. But Travelpro replaced it without further question - I only had to pay $25 for shipping. Seriously, best luggage company ever.

My 3rd Travelpro. It is phenomenal.
This is my first large Travelpro, purchased to replace a hard-shell large suitcase which finally died because a handle broke making it a bear to lift. This suitcase is fantastic. My previous 2 Travelpro are both overhead carry-on types....a soft side 2-wheel and a hard shell 4-wheel which is very similar in design to this unit, just smaller. I have both those Travelpro's in rotation, use them often, and love them. Once I got the 4-wheel carryon, I have to admit it is pretty cool versus the 2 wheel drag-behind. I am a convert. Anyway, this large Travelpro is a great suitcase. We wanted large volume, hard side, easy maneuvering. Well, this thing has a huge amount of space and it is amusing how far it rolls with barely a push. I have traveled with multiple motorcycle helmets and jackets in it, no problem. My daughter and I used it for ski/snowboard gear (boots, helmets)....any big awkward stuff which didn't easily fit into our ski bag roller. Through poor planning (my fault) we ended up in Denver Airport for 6 hours before we could check bags. We ended up setting the ski bag (heavy with skis, snowboard, boots, etc.) on top of this case.....like the Travelpro was a luggage cart. It worked fantastic, rolling smoothly with the extra weight. It made the 6hr roaming the airport a little easier. Thank you Travelpro. We have had this large case on I think 8 RT flights so far, so 16 flights? It is holding up great and continues to roll well and it looks good, too. Very happy with the purchase, another Travelpro winner.

Low quality parts
Wheels broke twice. Once after the first trip and then the replacement wheels broke on the 3rd. They replaced the whole thing after I complained but my confidence is very low.

Nice luggage, very lightweight and well made, but be beware if you want to nest the 25” into the 28”
OK I have to say, I LOVE Travelpro luggage. I’ve had the soft-side, now the hard-side and they are durable and very well made. OK now for the bad part about this luggage set. The 28-inch, and the 25-inch checked bags from the elite platinum line are the exact size width, so if you like to nest your luggage while not in use, or if you like to take two checked-sized bags by nesting them into each other (so you can shop and bring back the additional bag full of stuff), you will not like this set. I was disappointed when I got all three sizes. The carry-on is great, nice size, the wheels feel good and it does nest into the 25-inch bag. However, the 25-inch bag does not fit into the 28-inch bag, so in the closet, I have to have both luggage side by side, so it does take up extra space. Most of my other Travelpro luggage do nest so I’m unsure why they decided to make this line like this.

outstanding large 28-inch suitcase
Much lighter than a 28" hardside suitcase should be, and it rolls *so* well. Easily the best wheels on any luggage I've used yet, including other Travelpro. That 28" holds a lot, but takes some getting used to packing this way. There's an expansion zipper which is half closed in my photo. This is my first hard-sided suitcase, and I was a little worried (old horror stories of suitcases breaking)- I even carried straps for emergency repair. But I shouldn't have been. After 2 very long haul flights, 2 long haul flights, two commuter train rides, two amtrak rides, and a mix of cars, taxis, airports, and train stations between them? All with extreme weather changes? There was only one small scratch on one of the corner metal reinforcements. Literally not another scratch anywhere on the thing. I was shocked. The size? Massive. This is what you use for a 2 week trip, or if if you're doing multiple climates, or planning to bring back stuff. I nicknamed it "Big Blue". It does lend itself to overpacking, but also packing this thing is different than a normal top-loading. It opens in the middle, with a zippered compartment on each side. Unlike a softside, there's no give to the outside walls, so things fit differently. If you overfill, you won't be able to close the suitcase (although the expansion gives you an 1-2 inches of "oopsie" space). You can also use that middle/expansion space to stash a few items for easy access (or airport purchases), since getting to the main compartments during transit requires a spot big enough to lay out your enormous suitcase and open it like a clam. Trust me, you want to avoid doing that. Another concern: This things rolls and balances so well you might forget how heavy it really is. Put another bag on the handle, and that might be 60-80lbs (or more, if you're allowed excess weight). Be super careful jumping this over curbs or otherwise manhandling it- that's how hernias happen. Other thoughts: Even with the expansion zipper closed, it's too large to take on most escalators- you'll be going the elevator route. It won't fit between the facing seats on the New York LIRR if the expansion is full. It needs the bottom space on the Amtrak luggage rack. This is the largest suitcase I've ever owned, and it only comes out for specific kinds of trips. And it DOES prompt strangers to ask about your trip because you look like you might be moving abroad. But for those specific trips, it's perfect.

Great and sturdy
I realize that it's not Brig and Riely, but it lasted me three trip to India and big with stopovers, and they are just like new (may be two scratches) it's a very good quality piece if luggage if you want something that lasts.

No USB port
It says it has a USB port. Right on the laminated card that came attached to it. And when you ‘ask’ on this page. It doesn’t have a USB port.

The suitcase was used
The suitcase was clearly used. One of the corners was completed dented and there were major scuff marks all over the suitcase. Totally returning this item.
