Yes, the bag can be laundered, but I would insert it in a mesh laundry bag to avoid damaging it in the washer machine.

Does this garment bag have a chemical or plastic smell?

No it does not have any smell. I have two of these - one is ten years old - just bought a second - it has a nice almost soft silky feel and very flexible and not stiff. i hang clothes on thin hangers when i travel and then put them in this bag.....fold it in thirds and put into my checked bag...may even fit some carryons... then when I arrive I can hang it right up - things stay protected and neat...also...in the event something leaks in your bag this adds protection. Excellent product.

Can I put more than one suit in this bag?

You should be able to put more than 1 suit in the garment bag. I put 3-4 dress pants and 3-4 dress shirts in my bag. I hope this helps.
