Russian Piping Tips Set, 20 Stainless Steel Nozzles, 5 Bags and Coupler

The problem we have with these that they are not numbered there is no instructions. You have no idea what tip does what. We wish that there was some kind of instructions or numbers on the products so we know which tip does what.

These are huge! I have only used then once but got so many components. I didn't tell anyone that the credit goes to the tips :) you need a stiffer icing but it is so fun to show off. ;)

These are great to work with. I just had to make my icing LITTLE THICKER.

I'll explain my four star rating. The tips themselves get 5 stars. These work great, after a bit of practice. The key thing to figure out is the consistency of the icing – too thick and the petals break, too soft, and they don't hold their shape. The icing has to be very stiff, but not dry. Buttercream icing works the best. Trying to use whipped cream icing is a waste of time. Some of the shapes work better than others, but watch a few YouTube videos, and you'll be able to get some beautiful flowers. The flat tops of these particular tips are about as big as a nickel. There are some others available to purchase that are as big as quarters. If you want to make one rose to fit on a mini cupcake, you'll want the bigger tips. I like the size of these tips for decorating cupcakes. I created multi-color flowers using several colors of icing in my bag. You'll have to dedicate one or two icing bags to your Russian tips exclusively, since the tips are so big. I bought a large coupler specifically for Russian tips.I would award two stars to the three-part coupler, and zero stars for the cheap disposable bags that came with the set. I'll give a four star rating overall since the tips are great – one star off for having to clean frosting mess off my hands and counter when the disposable bags split and leaked icing all over the place. It's a good thing that I was only buying this set for the tips, and didn't particularly care about the coupler or the bags. The three-part coupler does not appear to be great. It was hard to put together, since the threading on the screws isn't substantial enough to accommodate the plastic of the icing bags. The sharp corners poked holes right through the cheap disposable bags that came with the set. I haven't tried the three-part coupler with my real icing bags, since I am worried the sharp corners will destroy my nice icing bags as well.

I can hardly wait to use these cool icing tips for the first time. If the demonstrations and pictures are to be believed, these will make decorating cakes and cupcakes a breeze.Update - Nov 2016I bought a set of these for my sister, and she got so excited, she had to bake a batch of cookies just to try out the tips! So neat... She honed her skill with them and was excited to make beautiful flowers after only a few minutes. It's all in the consistency of the frosting and technique of piping it. Highly recommend these tips for cupcakes, cakes and cookies. They're so cool!
