Insanely fun! Great puzzle with excellent implementation and craftsmanship.

Totally worth the money as a gift. I didn't do it myself so I can't speak to much of it. The person I got it for seemed to have fun and enjoy it. I can't imagine it's too difficult as he got it open within a day, so I'd put it at intermediate to beginner difficulty, probably. It's fairly sturdy but it can kinda feel like it's gonna break if you manhandle it a bit. Just be a bit tender with the box and the instruments and it'll be fine. It's easy to play with, and the instructions seemed pretty clear from what I glanced at. Perfect for your first puzzle box I'd say!

I got this wooden puzzle box as a gift for my husband, and it was a total win! He spent hours happily tinkering with it, trying to crack its secrets, and the challenge kept him hooked. The delicate design does mean you have to handle it with care, but that just adds to its charm. This is my 3rd puzzle box purchase from IDventure. I really appreciate their attention to detail. This is supposedly the “easiest” box so far but I am still struggling with it. Still having fun solving this puzzle. Hey, the longer it takes, the more value I get for my money! Ha ha haha! One note I have for IDventure is that it would be nice if they could better protect their products. They are just placed in a cardboard box, with an open hole in front, so it is easy for something to bump the product and damage it. By contrast, the puzzle company INSCAPE uses very nice hard-cardboard boxes to protect the product (and the product is stored in the box in soft foam, to insulate it further from bumps during transportation). It would be nice to see IDventure enhance their packaging. Other than that, well done. I love their puzzles!

Great fun for the grandkids. Kept them busy all day.

I used this puzzle box for a D&D adventure I ran my players through. They had a lot of fun with it and we made it a game by adding a time limit. I created kind of a graduated scale that if they finished in X time or under, this is what it would reveal and give, and then Y time gave something else etc. This made sure there was always something to learn by finishing the puzzle, but always the pressure of time to get as much information and loot as possible. The players working together was real good too because I had several things that would change as the puzzle came together. Getting the box open granted the final piece and overall the players had a blast and they are still talking about it 8 months later. The box is well made and sturdy and is easy to figure out, it just takes a little bit of time but when you are all working together it goes faster. Overall, this is a real fun product for the price. Hopefully this gave you some ideas how to incorporate something like this into your game!

These are so fun, but one of the main steps was not logical and required banging on the box to reveal part of an image, you had to continue to bang the box to see more of the image before you can move on.

This was awesome.. Until the little key pieces fell out and got lost by a 10 year old who gave up on the second puzzle. It took me maybe 45 minutes to solve the first attempt, and I had to look up a guide for the decoder, but it is definitely fun, and worth the cost. Now it sits on my shelf looking cool until I eventually stumble across the missing pieces and do it all over again.
