Beautiful, well-designed collar
This collar is very cute! The hair around my dog's neck is black and the bright colors really pop. Other reviews mentioned that the color is really much more teal than in the photo, and it is true, but I would not say it is unattractive. My dog's collar has received many compliments both for the looks and the functionality. If you are looking for a good martingale style collar for your dog, I haven't found any other collar that have two separate metal rings besides LupinePet. One ring is for tags, and one for the leash on the part that pulls the collar tight for no-slip on walks. Not that it's really difficult to access the loop on a single-ring martingale, but it's just easier on the LupinePet version since it's dedicated for the leash and clear of anything else. The separate ring for the tags also prevents the martingale loop from drooping down and potentially getting caught on something. Single-ring martingale collars tend to droop open a little with the weight of the tags, which makes it risky for choking potential if the drooping part gets caught and the dog pulls away, making the collar tighter as it is designed to do. This is not to say that this could never ever happen with the LupinePet design, but it is less likely because the part that gets tighter doesn't droop down and create a loop to get caught with the weight of tags on it. Anyway, my dogs only wear their martingale collars on walks. The nylon material of the collar is durable and easy to clean. I have another LupinePet collar that is three years old, and it is still in great condition. I also like the company's "guaranteed, even if chewed" policy and am happy that they stand behind their excellent product.

Cute martingale collar, durable material
My dog needed a fresh look so I ordered this collar even though there is nothing wrong with her old one (also a Lupine martingale collar. These collars are so perfect for my whippet-terrier mix that I should probably stock up. This “wet paint” design is super cute and goes great with her hot pink leash. I might add that these collars are very sturdy and durable!

Splatter paint design matches my dog's personality (and mine, too)
Love the look and feel, and I think the colors complements my dog's coat very well. I got it for a girl dog, but I think it could be a unisex design since I've been asked if my dogs are brothers. I love the martingale style, as it tightens just enough to not slip off when the dog pulls. Also, with this particular design, you can hook your dog's tags to one ring, and then attach a leash to the martingale ring, so you don't have to worry about accidentally hitching the leash onto the tags and yanking them off. I like the collar fabric material and groovy paint splatter design. I plan on purchasing the matching leash since the fun design makes me happy. The fabric material cleans up to look brand new, as my dogs just went swimming in mud puddles and they were caked with mud along with their brand new collars, but they clean up fine and dandy (photos taken the day after mud excursion). I have a 20 year old Lupine collar that's still holding up, and on that one all the hardware was metal. With the new design they now use one black plastic part. Kinda bummed they skimped there, so I hope it will hold up like the old one still has.

Dog no longer able to slip his collar.
Recently my dog had learned how to run half way around a tree, turn around and slip out of his collar. That is no longer possible with the Martingale collar even though it's rather loose otherwise.

Just what we needed! The only collar we use now.
The only collar we use to walk our dog. We recently adopted a 2 year old 50 pound Lab/Shep mix. She was part of a hoarding situation and had never been exposed to a leash or collar. She could easily slip out of a regular collar which was very dangerous. Her head is smaller compared to her body (grey hound like) so a collar unless it was tighten to the point of discomfort she could pull out of. This collar was purchased and it has worked great! it tightens when needed but she has a nice release of pressure when not pulling. We keep it attached to her leash and leaving it hanging by the back door for walking and just slide it right on. We like the extra ring for tag and separate for leash attachment. Washes nicely and I always hang to dry. May appear a little stiff at first but will wear in and soften pretty quickly with use. As mentioned this collar is not meant to be left on dog, but only for walking, training.

Pretty and feminine
I am giving the color four stars, not the quality. I thought the colors would be more muted and good for a male pup as well. But, it is definitely a girly collar because the pink is very bright. But, my standard review on Lupine collars:Lupine makes the best collars around, and the colors are so vivid and bright. I wash my collars in the washing machine, and they are definitely color-fast and do not lose their luster. The great thing about Lupine is that they guarantee their products for life, even if chewed.I do have a preference for the 1" collars, as I like the thick and sturdy look of these. Also, if you have a dog that is stubborn or had a narrow head (like a Basset Hound) then the "combo" collar is for you! It allows for the collar to be loose on the neck but tighten when you need it most.

I don't want to jinx myself by saying it's escape proof but...
My dog is an escape artist and she even figured out how to get out of a harness in less than 5 seconds. I didn't want to use a choke collar, but I was seriously thinking about it. This was also the first I had heard about a Martingale collar, but I wanted to try every option before a choke collar. A month later, she still has not managed to get out of this one. It's well worth the price, in my opinion.

Lupine, the best
I have owned nothing but Lupine martingale collars for about 20 years and never had any trouble with them. The only reason I purchased this collar was to give my dog her own new collar. The one she had been wearing for 4 years had been passed down to her from another dog I had. That collar was approximately 10 years old and just a bit faded! I will stay loyal to Lupine as they have proven to me to be the very best.
