Sun JoeSPX-UQC Universal Brass/Aluminum Pressure Washer Garden Hose Quick-Connect Kit

Because I read reviews that the in-the-box garden hose connector leaks badly, I ordered the Sun Joe SPX-UQC Universal Brass/Aluminum Pressure Washer Garden Hose Quick-Connect Kit when I ordered the Sun Joe SPX201E 1350 Max PSI 1.45 GPM 10-Amp Electric Pressure Washer. For assembly, I tried to follow the directions of other users who found that the quick-connector will not fit on the pressure washer without modification. So I pushed out the metal screen in the black portion of the quick-connector and put it back in the opposite way. This did allow for a connection to the washer but it leaked like a sieve. I found that the metal screen was preventing its hose gasket from seating. There is probably a way to solve that problem, maybe separating the screen from its gasket, but I didn’t go that route. I removed the metal screen with gasket and simply replaced it all with one of the hose gaskets from the garden hose connector (described as the garden hose adapter) that came with the pressure washer. I’m using tap water which does not need filtering anyway. I didn’t bother with Teflon tape on threads or adding other gaskets. Works like a charm, no leaks.

I don't know how we (not me!) lost the original, but stuff happens.It's great we can get a replacement part for lost or broken parts -much easier and less expensive than having to get a whole new unit!

I got a sunjoe pressure washer and the hose fitting it came with didn't work. I couldn't use it because the hose would only screw in a couple of turns and no farther. I was upset but then saw this quick connect fitting and wondered if that would fix my issues. I ordered and received it. It cured my bad hose connection and I can now use my pressure washer.

For starters, the unit is clearly labeled on each end. One says GH and the other says PW. One could reasonably guess that PW goes to Pressure Washer and GH goes to garden hose.After paying around with this for 20 minutes, it is apparent that this will not work because of the filter ont PW end.No problem, I just put it on backwards, connecting the GH end to the pressure washer, which SEEMED to work. As many others have mentioned ,the threads are funky and not compatible with ANY of my garden hoses. I could not even get more that one rotation onto the hose end. Ichecked eto be sure i had not cross threaded the fitting but, nope - it just wont fit.I have a SunJoe SPX3000 which works great, but this accessory is complete junk and already in the trash. Looks like SunJoe is pushing crappy accessories with such a low price, that its not worth returning, so instant profit! Do yourself a favor and stay away from thisDo yourself a favor

Immediately fixed my leaking hose at the connection to my power washer.

Ok, there is some confusion on how this works. I was able to figure out how to make it work correctly.. There are 2 pieces as shown in the picture. I'll call them the BLACK piece and the GREEN piece. The issue is on my pressure washer (SUNJOE SPX3000) if you unscrew the hose connector from the pressure washer inside there is a plastic screen that has 2 tabs on it. The BLACK piece has a integrated SCREEN/WASHER that you can not see in the picture. You need to either remove the SCREEN/WASHER and replace it with just a normal HOSE washer(The screen inside the pressure washer should trap any debris , or I think you can turn the SCREEN/WASHER around so that the screen protrudes into the brass nose of the BLACK PIECE. Then screw the BLACK PIECE onto the PRESSURE WASHER.The GREEN piece then screws onto your garden hose and the internal piece in the GREEN piece is such that it will stop water flow on the hose when it is disconnected from the Pressure washer even if you do not turn the water off at the other end of the hose. When you press the GREEN piece onto the BLACK piece the brass nose will depress this check valve and allow water to flow from the hose INTO the pressure washer. Hope this helps everyone!

The connector came with a green piece and and black piece. The black piece has a washer with a screen filter. This will prevent a less than ideal connection to the pressure washer because there is a water inlet filter already in place inside the water inlet of the pressure washer unit. I basically removed the washer from the black piece of the quick connect and ripped out the screen filter with a needle nose. I don't think you really need both filters. It came off cleanly. Reinserted the washer (notches on washer down so it will fit snuggly), and connected the black piece to the pressure washer unit. Will connect the green piece to garden hose. Haven't actually tested it yet, but because of Sun Joe's flawed design on the install, they only get 3 stars. They could have easily included a second washer without a screen filter and some instructions for the swap out (making it more universal) and it would have definitely gotten a higher rating on the review.

This adapter is way better than the leaky thing that comes with the unit. The quick connect is an amazing bonus in addition to the main reason for it, to stop the leaking.Major kudos to Review Mark Jan 11 2018 for advising that the screen inside needs to be either turned around or removed (I removed it and replaced with the washer from the original piece) and then it works like a charm. Otherwise the pressure washer can't get any water, which can be quite bad on the unit if you don't know to do that.

Work well and seem durable, but one of the female fittings is very tight.

So far I haven't been able to even connect the garden hose to the disconnect, the threads aren't correct, doesn't screw on. I can get the other part in the pressure washer no problem but the hose wont connect and I even have an aqua joe hose, everything is brand new so I called sun joe, the customer service so far has been top notch, I did explain the situation and the rep said it should work so they’re sending a new one, I told him that I am pretty sure it’s the threads, the rep thinks it could be a problem with the individual unit I have but I don’t believe so, I think the new one won’t work either but I’ll give it a try. I’m going toga eat to buy a disconnect kit if the new one still can’t screw on which is disappointing. If the new one they send works I will come back and update this to 5 stars
