This is a great concept and seems like it would be perfect for a coloring enthusiast. That being said, I purchased this product for a slightly different purpose and love it. I am using it something like a padfolio to hold my teacher's journal/record book (8 1/2" x 11", spiral bound - approx 1/2" thick), and the set of colored pens I bought to write in it with. The elastic loops are meant more for slender colored pencils - but they seem to accommodate my pens just fine. The velcro pouch was a little small for what I needed, so I used it to store the colored pencils that came with the case, and put it with my bag of coloring supplies. (I do like to color and may end up purchasing another of these cases for that purpose :) ). I then put Velcro tabs on a calculator and pad of post-it notes - and- instant portable teacher's "desk" - perfect for this homeschool mom. The case seems very well made, flexible but sturdy for writing/coloring in, so I am hopeful it will last through at least the next 4 years of schooling. The only thing I wasn't particularly fond of, was the neon green logo on the front - I was able to cover it however, with a large, inspirational sticker - so overall, I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it - not just for coloring enthusiasts, either. :)

I ordered this as a gift for a 17 year old girl - an "angel tree" child from my church. She'd requested coloring books and pens. I thought a portfolio might be nice to go along with them. I saw this and knew right away it would be great. It was delivered on time and in perfect condition; sealed in its own plastic bag inside the shipping box.The portfolio itself is true to description. Well made and sturdy. I love how it can hold either top bound or side bound coloring books. The pencils and sharpener are a great bonus.The price is good, too!I would order this again and definitely recommend it to others.

I bought this because I wanted to have a way to carry my sketch journal and drawing supplies in a simple grab and go package. This works really well for my purposes. I replaced the color pencils with graphite and charcoal pencils. The pouch is convenient for holding an eraser and a sharpener and it is removable. The overall quality of the case is very good. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the journal I put in the case is only 1/2 inch thick and is about the thickest thickest book it will hold. To be fair the case is intended for adult coloring books and would be perfect for them. I would definitely buy this again.

Despite being a very early Amazon adopter I have never written an Amazon review before. But this product is so worthless I had to. I could see it would be a tight fit, so I very carefully tried to slide in a 9 X 12 drawing pad and the product ripped anyway. Amazon shows that 9 X 12 pads are routinely purchased with this product.

I liked the look and the compartments for pencils. It's a little hard to fit some of the coloring books though. Maybe there could be a little more space for the books.

I bought this for my teen who is never without her drawing/sketching supplies. There are trails of pencils, pens, half finished sketches throughout our home, and I watch her wander around looking for a missing favorite pencil or other related item constantly. I’m so impressed with the quality and really smart design! Sketch pads can be inserted vertically or horizontally, the pencil holders can hold all of her different pencils & pens and the removable bag allows her to fold it over for a flat surface and quick access to the contents. This portfolio has eliminated the wasteland of drawing supplies and I’m no longer turning over cushions during hunts for “my favorite charcoal!!!!” Fantastic quality; it’s soft to the touch and I appreciate that the maker is a small business.

Too small for the majority of adult-coloring books and doesn't fit any of the books my girlfriend already had.

I purchased this for my oldest son who, at age 23 thinks he's far too old to be playing with coloring books. However, I've taken up coloring a bit as an adult and if I, as old as I am, can benefit from a little relaxation, then, by golly, so can he. Ah, I feel so relaxed when I am able to sit down, open the coloring book, set it perfectly parallel to the line of pencils sharpened exactly so, each one a specific 2mm from the next, sorted in ascending spectral wavelength and select the first color. It's so wonderfully relaxing to gently stroke the pencil across the paper, pause to rotate the pencil end through the sharpener exactly 1.5 times, then repeat the process. It's important to make sure that I continue to use a perfectly sharp pencil because, otherwise, it increases the possibility of coloring outside the lines. And, ha ha, we all know that coloring outside the lines is NOT ALLOWED. No. It is the sign of a disordered mind and that is a bad thing. A. BAD. THING. I know my son will benefit from the relaxation inherent in coloring these books just as I do. I feel so much more loose and relaxed. So much more. Yes.
